About
Visitors can find here detailed information about the era when palinka distillation was outlawed, from the time of the Hungarian Republic of Councils of 1919 to 2010.Two short films show the history of palinka distilling, and visitors can also watch an interesting compilation about the ingredients of palinka, including medicinal palinka.

It's a very nice place, the museum part is surprisingly informative and exciting, it was a longer visit than we expected. We will come back again.
P.s. The pálinkas are very tasty.

Short stop
Sep 2019 • Family
We stopped here with napping babies. The museum is 2 rooms in the basement, good for a 20 minute self-guided your. The main floor is a store with any kind of palinka and accessory you could want in a small room.

The show is not really a program for babies, but it's great that you still did! Thank you for visiting.

Interesting museum / Nice gift shop
May 2018 • Couples
We explored the museum on our own. The displays are interesting and the english guide pages were helpful.
The gift shop was nice and the palinka was perfect. We really enjoyed the flavoured chocolate.

One of the best places to visit in Visegrád!
Mar 2018 • Friends

I had huge expectations, and the place delivered.
Very informal, interactive and modern place to visit, lots of goods to choose from.
Helpfull staff, one of the best Hungarian spirits(PÁLINKA), we've ever had.
Totally worth it!
Thanks! :)

Köszönjük véleményét! Nagyon örülünk, hogy jól érzeték magukat és még plusz információkkal is tudtak távozni a pálinkafőzés fortéllyairól. Nekünk fontos a jó pálinka, fontos, hogy minél többen jól készítsék, sikeresek legyenek benne, ezért igyekszünk minél több tapasztalatunkat megosztani róla. A téma érdekes, tudjunk meg róla minél többet! Önöhöz hasonló, lelkes látogatóinkank ajánlom, legközelebb keressék fel látványfőzdénket is!

The place is a glorified souvenir shop. Women working in the shop was disinterested in her job. Won't be back.

Great museum and a nice gift shop!

We were in palinka museum with some friends. I highly recommend coming over for palinka tasting and guided tour. We were late, so we explored museum on our own, and without a tasting, but it was still worth the time spent. It has a lot of great artifacts, and even some interactive elements. However I'd recommend to the owners to add English and maybe German translations to all descriptions in the museum. At the moment it's all in Hungarian, and foreign guests can't really appreciate what they see without knowing what it is. In our case two people had to translate to two others.
Gift shop is really great, lots of palinka related gifts for any budget, I'd definitely like to come again one day to buy some gifts for my friends and family.

We are very pleased with your interest in the Pálinka Museum. Thank you for your opinion. The views of our visitors are very important to us. We still aren`t too good at in English subtitles, although we have an English languages guide, which our collegue hands over to visitors. We have a German languages digital tool in the museum, our german visitors can read all information. Anyway, we hope your next visit can we show you our foreing languages developments.

Very interesting
May 2017 • Couples
We visited the Pálinka Múzeum during our stay in Visegrád and liked it very much. It is a small museum but has a lot of information about the different ways of making pálinka and also the many fruits people are/were using in the past. The videos are in hungarian though, so one must ask if they also have the descriptions/maybe subtitles in english. There is also a possibility to taste a LOT of different pálinka, so don't be shy 😉

Dear Guest, Our hungarian spirit (called palinka) museum is situated in a medieval based house in Visegrad city downtown. You was in the ice house in the cellar, where the ice was stored for cooling. Here we installed the exhibition, which is dedicated for the illegal period of destilling. In the beginning of the 20th century in Hungary we had prohibition, we collected many distillerys from that age. And you can taste our 22 kind of palinkas. Thank you for wisiting us, we are waiting you back...
