Entire area is under renovation. Don't waste your time. Everything cool is closed. No idea when it will reopen. The town is nice, but not worth s special trip.

At the moment this area is undergoing major renovations and is basically a building site and inaccessible. The square is pretty and has a nice cafe

Very nice Gisella Hotel where I stayed. Pics from my room window also from the hotel grounds as well as from the cross on the mountain. The entire area is beautiful 😍

At the time of our visit (sunny day, about 9 a.m.) we were the only visitors, so it was a kind of disappointment for us. We couldn’t even drink a coffee. We planned to explore the castle hill at least one or two hours, but we left after about 10 minutes. Maybe we just had a bad day.

Beautiful view on the city. It worth to come here. You can see nearly the whole city. There are beautiful buildings: churches and tatuary.

I enjoyed this part of town a lot. I went to Saint Michael's Cathedral, the cross on the hill, the Franciscan church, the well outside Saint Michael's Cathedral and looked at a lot of statues. I highly recommend it.

We almost did not go to Veszprem, but we were nearby and read it is very beautiful and it was worth the drive! We were very happy we took the time to visit.
Parking was challenging but we were lucky to park about 1 block from the Castle Hill. It is basically like a fort from medieval times, with many buildings, museums and churches.
But take your time, there is a lot to see. It is beautiful and the views from the very top are just fantastic. Just outside the complex there are restaurants. The food is good...There is also a little train that will take you out on a ride through the historical sites of the town, it is not a very long ride but it is cute. It will take you to the zoo. We skipped that visit. I personally do not like the idea of caged animals.
I paid to see an exhibition of paintings and it was mainly photographs of paintings, I felt a bit cheated. And I was not allowed to take photos? There was a lot of information about the paintings printed in English and Hungarian of course...

The old part of town is beautiful, restaurant are very good. Lots of beautiful buildings from different artistic periods. The fire tower is ideal for sightseeing throughout the city. The city is known for its handball club. In the center, there is a large and interesting theater. There are a lot of green areas in the city.

After a long climb to the top of the hill we had a 360 degrees view of Vesprem. We walked around and saw many buildings which were quite old . Some are renovated/. Inside the buildings there were galleries' museums and government offices. Apparrently the summer is a better season to visit this hill. We did not manage to see any of the exhibitions inside. It started raining heavily and we had to leave.

this is the thing to do when you are in Veszprém. Built in the Middle Ages, you can find one of the few remaining Romanesque churches in Hungary. Also known as the city of the Queens. Just climb up there, you will not be disappointed.
