Many people say that the Echo was destroyed due to architectural changes in the sights vicinity but we try it every time we are in Tihany and it works, even during daytime, even in the tourist season, even with noise around you, even if the...More

So we came to try the Echo and I have to admit that my attempts at getting the wall to respond to my shouts were unsuccessful. As we were walking away somewhat disappointed a few lads also tried but they whistled instead of screaming "hello"...More

Since the village of Tihany I have already commented in another review, I will discuss really only attraction "Tihany echo". Well, well, well. Although I have screamed louder than at a metal concert, echo somehow didn't work. They say that some trees has grown and...More

The echo doesn't echo, or at least it didn't seem to work when we were there. There's a lovely old village and souvenir shops, but it is aimed purely at tourists and the prices reflect this.

There are lovely views from this place but not much else to see apart from the statue which a Hungarian family had draped themselves over - obviously didn't think anyone would want to take pictures! Lots of small children were shouting - obviously trying to...More

In Hungary if someone would like to visit the Balaton lake, the most representative place with the greatest view is Tihany. Basically the little town is on a half island inside the Balaton, this ensures its extraordinary perspective. If you climb up even to the...More
