After taking a small hike to the top of the hill you are presented with a nice new look-out tower. It is only 3 floors but presents a beautiful 360 view. It is not far from Benedictine Abbey so you can easily incorporate the two in the same trip.

The most panoramic viewpoint on lake Balaton

You have to walk half an hour before you get there, crossing a forest. Use suitable shoes! Then you have to climb some flights of stairs but finally you can enjoy a splendid view of the entire lake.

Worth the walk

Lovely view and great walk to this point with lots of views and usually clear signposting. Part of the lavender trail walk 3 from Tihany.

Ortorony (short walk)

There is free parking at the road junction from/to the town. There is a big map in the parking area (and sadly loads of litter). The path was well defined and It took about 20 minutes one way.

pretty nice view from there over lake Balaton, Volcanoe area and flat sruurounding in South - and very romantic watching sun set.

Great panoramic view

We got to the tower after a 3 hours hike around the peninsula, but it can be reached easier, with a shorter hike, too. The view worth the visit, as there is a breathtaking panorama from the top.

It's a very safe viewing point near the Road 71. You can see on thr left and on the right side the Balaton, in the middle the Külső-tó and Belső tó and the church of the benedictine abbey.

Great for noon walks

This lookout tower is great, view is beautiful BUT: it was actually very hard to find! You had to guess most of the time which way to go an as its quite long walk you can get lost easy. Also there was mess around and no bins, which is shame...
