In this post I would like to share the opening hours of this place. It is not that easy to find the schedule in internet. We went on Monday, assuming that it should be opened, but faced the closed gates. It was quite disappointing.
Overall, it is very easy to get there by bus from Tata. It takes around 15 minutes. One way ticket is 250 HUF per person.

This was an amazing place to visit! You pay an entry fee at the gate and then are able to explore at your own will. It was quite well paved although we did get a bit lost in one area! Thankfully found our way back to the entrance!

We visited nearby town Tata and just stopped here with our kids to take some rest and fresh air. This arboretum is in fact a nice forest, around 20 hectars, full of exoctic or less exotic trees (oaks, pines ...many plants). Although it was weekend and afternoon, the forest was empty - I was surprised, that we were the only visitors there - and thereby quiet. We walked on the paths among the trees, enjoyed the summer afternoon, the silence, special, clear air, all the beauty around us and were so happy when we saw eagles, owls and squirrels.
If you enjoy walking in the nature or long for a nice,quiet place for relax with your loved ones or just "recharge your own batteries" while you´re staying in this region, I can highly recommend Agostyán Arboretum. Take your comfortable runners on, grab some sandwiches and a bottle of water into your bag and let´s go out. Parking is free at the gate, admission into the park is cheap (400 HUF - approx. 1.50 euros/person)

We were there with a little baby, he enjoyed trees and moving leaves very much. It was so peaceful he also took a nice nap. For adults - finally some clean air to breathe with and rest for tired eyes. It's a good idea to go there on a hot day because the walk in the forest is refreshing and it's much cooler there.
We gave it a second chance after last time we arrived around 3:30 pm and it turned out they close at 4. On weekdays the opening hours are 9 am - 4 pm, on weekends and holidays 10 am - 5 pm.
