Not in the city center, but accessible with car (plenty of parking spots at the entrance) and by public transport as well, this became one of the "must visit" of Szeged.
Very well kept, well organised, plenty of maps along the road (but you get one at the entrance too) with lots of different type of plants and trees.
We find especially nice the lotus garden, tha japanese garden, the rose garden and the tropcial greenhouse.
Once there, do not forget to visit the tropcial butterflies building, which is behind the tropcial plants building (get around the tropical building, before the lotus lake and you'll be there). There you will get the experience of being surrounded with the many different, colorful butterfly.

Botanical garden is located a bit out of city center, near the Tisza river. There is enough parking space at the entrance. It is a nice green heavenm with lots nteresting of paths, some nice lakes, picnic places and the green house with some exotic plants. Good for any nature admirers

The Botanical Garden in Szeged is a real hidden gem. If you are looking for a few hours away from the city centre and daily life, the botanical garden is the perfect place for peace and quiet, listening to the birds sing, mental relaxation and "getting away from it all". It is not a spa, but has an atmosphere of calm.
The kids will enjoy it because it has learning programmes and plenty of space to play in, explore and wander around. It has a nature reserve, points of interest, many varieties of tree, plant and herbs, plenty of benches after a long walk around the 17 Acre site and is ideal for picnics, reading in the park, sunbathing, etc. It only costs 700 for an adult (under £2) to visit, so is excellent value for money. The green house has an excellent selection of trees and cactus. Overall, a pleasant day out.

We visit every year the park. It is a great place to spend an afternoon with kids. During summer you can visit also the butterflies garden with lot of huge butterflies.
There are special days like Levander when they organize workshops, músic concerts and you can buy different things cinkelted to Levander (soap, drinks, capes,...)

I have found this recommendation on Tripadvisor, and it was more beautiful than I expected. It was a stopby on my trip from Novi Sad to Budapest, and I'm glad that I visited this place. I regret I did not have mnore time to spend there.

I visited this botanical garden in summer, it was amazing. Not so big, but big enough to spend some time with family or friends walking or sitting on benches in the garden. It's a nice place to take wedding photos. I definitely recommend it to visit while in Szeged. The price is reasonable.

A very nice and quiet "garden" to visit and spend half a day. We have been there with kids and we just loved it. The amazing nature brought to you to one place. There are nice places for kids to play. You can find small lakes with turtles and fish, walk amongst them on small bridges and roads. You have a tropical house to visit and also a lots of cactus. There are many places to have a picnic as well. If you love nature and want to spend a calm nice afternoon, then this is the place for you to visit in Szeged.

It's very relaxing for anyone who loves botanical gardens but there's not that much to see except for the Asian area. Also, the lady who sells the tickets doesn't speak English so make sure you check out the Hungarian words for adult, student, and children before.

The botanical garden is worth for a visit anytime of the year. The park is very well mantained. You can find several places to sit down and relaxes and enjoy the sounds of the nature. Don't leave home your comfy shoes.
(It is out of town a bit but it can be easily reached by car or bus.)
