Way better than expected

The Anna Baths are inside a beautiful old building. It is mostly kept up very nicely, though some parts are currently under renovations. We went into five different spa pools as well as a sauna and a steam room. The pools were in beautiful domed rooms. None of the pools were as hot as I keep my own hot tub, this combined with the cold dipping pool and the numerous showers made it easy to spend several hours there. The water was clean and odourless. The jets in the different pools come on and off by themselves on cycles. We went in the evening on a hot day and found it not at all crowded and profoundly relaxing.

Profoundly relaxing

I spent a couple of hours here with some friends in the morning. It was lovely. The saunas were a bit hot for me (I'm not a fan of that sort of thing) but the baths were absolutely wonderful and great fun! The staff were very kind and helpful.

Relaxing and historic

The Anna Thermal baths are in a beautiful Secessionist building in the heart of the city. There is a thermal wing and a wellness wing. Both are included in the entrance ticket. The facilities are co-gender. You need to bring a swim suit and a towel. You should also wear plastic shoes in the baths (eg flip flops or crocs). You are given a key to a locker. There are a variety of saunas, including hot Finnish ones, and a hot and a cooler steam room. As well as pools at different temperatures, many with hydrotherapy jets. The hottest at 36 C is the medicinal pool. There is also a swimming pool, a buffer and an internal garden for sunbathing. The interior spaces are elegant and well maintained, combining Arte Nouveau and neo-classical styles. In addition to day time opening, the baths are open 9 pm to midnight Monday to Friday. You will miss out on a beautiful experience if you do not go.

Beautiful traditional thermal bath
Apr 2019 • Couples
Beautiful traditional thermal bath with authentic design both inside and outside. Feels like a time travel. More smaller and larger pools and a huge variety of wellness options such as more types of sauna, steam, massages, etc.

Nice spa
Apr 2019 • Couples
There are two main parts to the spa - Thermal and Wellness. Thermal opens at 6a.m. and you get three pools with mineral water, one of them is the best water jet pool we have seen yet. Mind you, there's something floating in the water, so not for the squeamish! There's a sauna in thermal section and an indoor swimming pool. Heated stone benches around the big mineral pool are a nice feature - so relaxing I almost fell asleep!
Wellness opens at 12 a.m. on weekdays and you get an assortment of saunas (steam room is perfect - the steam is hot and so dense you can't see your neighbor) and pools (three fun pools with water jets and two cooling pools for after the sauna).
The yard with sunbeds is very nice.
On weekends wellness opens at 6 a.m. and there's every reason to wake up early and take a morning ticket (6 a.m. to 12 a.m.) for 1300 ft. You'll beat the crowds and enjoy the spa in peace. Otherwise a daily ticket costs 2000 ft which is not much either. For a daily ticket you get a paper band but the control is rather relaxed - the turnstiles are folded down and nobody chases you around saying "your time is up!".
On the whole the atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming and homely, we loved it.

Relaxing time

I often go to the bath to relax in the medicinal pool, sauna, and steam room. It's pretty good for that reasonable price.

A hidden gem to have a few relaxing hours.
Oct 2017 • Family
When being on a trip with my mum my eye fell on this odd-shaped building while passing by it. It had some eastern style architecture and just beckoned to be investigated. It turned out to be one of the oldest spa's / thermal bath in the region and we there and then decided to stop our journey and enjoy a good bath. The building is here and there a bit old and needs a refreshing, and staff do not always know how to speak English. But with some good will from both sides we managed to get all explained and enjoyed a few hours of nice traditional Thermal Bath in Szeged.
