Not open
Jun 2020 • Couples
Not open. Under renovation. Szeged takes little trouble to keep its visitors informed. The downside of this pleasant, quiet, sleepy, perhaps eve lazy town!

It was under repair :-(
Aug 2019
I had a lot of information of what I wanted to visit before arriving to any city. It broke my heart to know it was closed for repairs-remodeling...whatever....Of what we could see it was not going to be a fast fix. I don't know how anyone being there in August 2019 could have seen anything but the obvious. Just repairs, closed to the public.

Nice museum in a nice building
Oct 2018 • Friends
This was my second time in this museum but this time there was a dynausure exhibition also. It was nice for children but the famous painting from Munkácsy could not be watched normally. Pity.

Another Szeged gem
Feb 2019 • Solo
I walked past this building a couple times each day during my three day visit and at all times of the day and night it captured 100% of my attention. I never went inside the building and I've read that it is as impressive inside as it clearly is from the outside so I will definitely make sure I go inside next time I'm in Szeged. Check out my photos to see how utterly beautiful this museum really is.

Big museum
Aug 2018 • Friends
Even the building of the museum is imposant with its facade with column. In the city center various exhibitions. It is worth to visit it you can learn a lot.

Worth visiting - even if you don't go in!
Jun 2018 • Solo
The neo-classical architecture of the city centre stems from the city-wide destruction wrought in 1879 by a monumental flooding of the Tisa river - 95% of the city's 5700 buildings needed rebuilding. The Habsburg emperor at the time kept his promise that Szeged 'will be more beautiful than it used to be'.
The streets that run parallel to the Tisa river to the east of the museum - Dozśa, Stefania, Roosevelt and Oskola - are lined with some the city's most exquisite neo-classical buildings from an art-deco palace in Dozśa utca (300 metres to the north), the monumental yellow Theatre building on Stefania and fading centenarians on Roosevelt ter. and Oskola utca.

Yes. I never made it into the Museum!

Random exhibits
Jun 2018 • Friends
Mora Ferenc Museum had a rather random selection of displays ranging from the history of Szeged to the evolution of homo sapiens. Another random looking section of South American animals and a section of renaissance-era paintings made up the rest of the museum.

Very good museum for permanent collection of works, traveling exhibits of shoes and posters of Hungary. Beautiful building and gardens. More than one half of exhibits were in English.
