This is a true symbol of Szeged. The interior and the exterior are both fantastic. If you have time go up to the top of the Domotor Tower to have a perfect view of Szeged! It is HUF 600 per person/adult.

The entire interior is painted, with beautiful fresco's on the ceiling. Great stained glass, too. Well worth a visit.

A beautiful church from the 18th century. Blue and gold interior with marble floor. Large done and painted ceilings and beautiful alter. All worth going inside and viewing

This is a nice church from the late 19th early 20th century. It is definitely worth a visit. It has real marble, which is rare here in Hungary where much of what looks from a distance like marble in churches is often just paint.

We visited the Church with my family. If you like art, I definitely recommend as it has beautiful frescoes;) You can enter free and have a sit for a while and think about your life!;) Cheers!;)

Szeged was almost completely destroyed by the flooding Tisza river in 1879. Therefore, the reconstructed city is all relatively new, including the Votive Church, which was only completed in 1930. Located on Dom square, the church was erected in the place of the older Domotor church, of which only a tower (Domotor Tower) survives. The ample square allows a full... More

The art in Hungary is so very different from Italy that it is difficult to not compare. Yet the distinctively Eastern European expression is captured gloriously in this Catholic Church.
