We'll be back very soon

Lovely Dotto ride around the city and relaxing at one of the many cafe bars around the square. Visited the old mosque (now a Catholic Church) and a short walk to the beautiful Cathedral. Lots of wonderful statues and steeped in history. Coffee and cakes in the lovely cathedral cafe. Spent the whole day just drinking in the atmosphere of this great university city.

A square full of history!
Sep 2020
Szechenyi Square is the center of Pecs, where you can find the Mosque of Pasha Qasim, Zsolnay Fountain and many more interesting buildings.
A must to see! Unbelievable!!

This is a stunningly beautiful square ... Surrounded by history and beauty, it's simply awesome and breathtaking ... After several weeks of touring Hungaria, this place felt like coming home...love Pécs!

So European!
Sep 2019
When one arrives to the centre of the town and starts walking around Szechenyi Square one feels the beauty of these old cities in Europe. It is surrounded by magnificent buildings, with a column in the centre and fountains. Pedestrians only and the little train that takes you for a tour around the main historical places of this beautiful City. If you are driving make sure you look at the allowable places where you can park. That goes for all cities in Hungary. Parking is a problem all over the world and Hungary is no exception. Particularly since many of their squares and streets are for pedestrians only. So many times parking very close to the main square is exclusive of people who work or live near those areas and they have special permits. You have to walk a little bit more but you will be able to park nearby.
I have a photograph of a change they are planning in Szechenyi Square with a brook through it. I find Hungarians are restless...they like to change the looks of many buildings and special places. I think right now it is perfect...but somebody in Pecs wants to change it. I think it is a deal-done.

The crown of this beautiful city
Aug 2019
The city of Pécs has a colorful history with different religions. The Széchenyi square is a summary of the past, with the mosque, the buildings embellished with the Zsolnay ceramics and the Christian church. I recommend a night visit too and drink a beer or wine there.

Captivating but busy.

Szechenyi square feels like the center of the city. It is one of it's most important places to visit. We have been there about 10 times over several years and there is alwyas something going on. The area seems to usually have street performers and children's activites going on. The square is lined with places to eat and coffee shops. There is also a city tour train that begins and ends in the square. The church on the square is indicitive of the history of Hungary and worth a visit.

One of the most beautiful squares I have ever seen in Europe. It is awesome and a great place for photos. We spent the weekend in Pecs and every time we walked through or by this square I saw something new and interesting. Lovely place!
