    Great pedestrian street!
Right in the middle of the old city is Kiraly Utca. It is a relatively straight street with gorgeous painted buildings on either side. Different types of architectures adorn the buildings and are certainly worth a healthy peeking!

    Love this pedestrian only streets
One of the pleasures of being in such a beautiful town is to walk on these pedestrian only streets. Kiraly Utca is incredibly beautiful, with magnificent buildings right and left, trendy restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, pizzerias ( Hungarians fell in love with pizzas, I prefer their traditional ways of cooking). Take you time and explore!

    目抜き通りです
    市庁舎から続く歩行者天国の通りで、ホテル・レストラン・ショップが並び、色合いがカラフルで、散策に楽しい通りです。アールヌーボーの華麗な国立劇場は必見です。

As we were staying in the Carat Boutique Hotel we were on this street and what a great location.
This street is vibrant and without a doubt the main party area of the Pecs district.
Pubs and bars are everywhere such as Cool Tour,Kuplung,Csipesz Bar,Zing Burger and many many more, the street also brings you onto Gozsdu Court which is an awesome passageway teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants.
Besides the great nightlife you have an eclectic mix of architecture ranging from beautiful restored buildings to crumbling ruin pubs which are a must go destination.
Shopping outlets abound here ranging from boutique artisan shops to shopping centres and souvenir shops,it really is one busy and alive area and is constantly busy 24 hours a day.
There are some nice churches on and around this street and if your a keen photographer don't forget to take your camera as you will take some fantastic photos.
A great street and area and well worth checking out.

One of the most lively street in the old part of Pecs - pedestrian zone, so great for a walk or meeting with friends. Lots of shops, bars....and interesting well restored houses.

Whimsical fountains, modern sculpture, Trinity Monument (to plague victims), freedom fighter statues, beautiful ardhitecture, loads of places to eat and shop ... plan to spend several hours.

The statue to Kossuth, the 1848 revolutionary freedom fighter against the Habsburgs (1802-1894) is on display and he certainly lived a long life! Also Hyunyadi Janos Halalanak (in about1456-ish) who fought the Turks with a vastly outnumbered force of soldiers joins the sculpture ranks (completed in the 1800's) and bells are still rung in honor of his victory (but I don't know when that happens, we did not hear them). He is very famous; many statues in the area depict him.

There is a mosque with a bell tower and the bells are done in a very modern style.

All over Eastern Europe, our trip included various cities' Trinity Monuments to celebrate the passing of the plague and to offer a type of collective prayer that this would never come to pass again. All the monuments seem to be fashioned the same: a large obelisk-type of tiered structure with a saint at the top and levels of suffering below. Always beautifully crafted and the story always thought provoking. It's an action diorama.

This is certainly a jewel in the crown of Hungary.

One of the old streets that are the centerpiece of the walking area in Pecs. A lot of restaurants for all shapes and sizes. :) Be sure to spend some time there and enjoy.

Even that Pecs has many nice-looking streets, it is most likely that Kiraly utca will be the leader of your attention because there are many nice touristic-friendly things located on his street.

Hotel Palatinus, which is located close to Szechenyi ter, is one of them. Even that this hotel might disappoint you with old furniture in its rooms, you shouldn't miss a chance to spend at least one night in this hotel to enjoin its noble lobby, spectacular views from your room and its majestic breakfast in the royal interior for a very reasonable price. But if you don't have such an opportunity, then don't miss a chance to take couple of pictures of its exteriors.

The National Theater of Pecs is another attraction located on Kiraly utca if you will continue walking down the street away from Szechenyi ter. It might be tricky to get tickets if you buy them on the day of the show. If it unfortunately happened to you, then you can always enjoy the view of the theater from the outside sitting in one of the nearby benches. Street musician will make sure that the show that you missed inside the theater will be compensated by his musical abilities outside.

Many restaurants, coffee shops, souvenir stores and some little museums will be also found by you while walking on this street.

If you will continue walking in the opposite direction from Szechenyi ter, Kiraly utca will turn into Felsovamhaz utca, which will lead till Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, where you will find exhibitions of the famous Hungarian porcelain.

Finally, McDonald's is another touristic-friendly place located at the beginning of this street with amazing view to Szechenyi ter.

The only thing that really disappointed us is the fact that not many souvenir stores were open in one weekend in January during our stay. And those, which were open, had very tricky working schedule that didn't fit into opening hours written on the entrance doors.

All in all, we (a couple) highly recommend you to spend some hours on this street.

Kiraly utca runs east off Szechenyi utca. It is a lovely pedestrianised street that has been well restored and is now the epicentre of cafes, ice cream parlours and restaurants. Along the way you will pass brightly coloured townshouses, the grand old Palatinus hotel and the National Theatre.
