Was a cold night, we were looking for something to do. Happened to be walking by the National Theater and saw that "The Jungle Book" was playing that evening. Decided to see if tickets were available, found out that 2 remaining seats in the balcony were available, which we bought at a great price. I don't speak a word of Hungarian, but my son with me did. It was not a traditional interpretation of Rudyard Kipling's classic, more modern/experimental theatre genre, but the musical numbers were good, the acting and production values generally good and I could follow the story well enough (my son would laugh at the jokes). The theater itself is dated but kept well enough and the ambience is wonderful and full house in attendance. Some attendees were dressed up nice, others in casual clothing, so I don't think that should be a deterrent. We had a great Friday night experience. Would recommend.

I went to Pecs with my sister and we really loved the city! This theatre left the most impression on us. It is located in the city center, you can not miss it!

I went to a show with friends. It was in Hungarian, but it was Peter Pan, so I knew what was happening without knowing the language. Great night at the theatre!

Right in the centre of it all. Streets are lined with cafés and food. A vibrant city centre and worth the trip!
