Not much English spoken here by staff but very friendly and happy that you are interested in the museum
We googled on our phones to see what position the Hungarians had in ww1 and ww2

The Herman Ottó Museum, which was established in 1883 in Miskolc, boasts a huge collection of specimens, including minerals, fossils and taxidermy animals. Certainly worth a visit for anyone interested in the natural world.

We were with our Miskolc Pass there. There was an mineral exhibition and a natural history exhibition about the T-REX time!!
Amazing!!
And all of things was on display was real, not a plastik things...everything is real!! That is why we just can offer that you do not have to leave out if you have been there in Miskolc!
Also a best choice on a rainy day visit, for kids especially and for adults too!!

This was the house of the great naturalist Otto Herman which has been restored and transformed into a museum. It is great to see his personal belongings and what he found.

When you visit the museum the only feeling you get is "meh". Go and see the Pannon-sea museum instead!

There are a huge number of displays in these museums (there is more than one museum). The quality of the artifacts and relics are really "museum quality". I had no idea that some of the items on display could actually be found in Hungary or in the surrounding areas. A great find while walking off lunch! Many great cafes and restaurants in the immediate area, a very nice city to visit. This area is easily accessed via street car in 5-7 minutes from the main train station.

The dinosaur exhibition turned out to be a super exciting geological exhibition. Lots of crystals, lots of opportunities to touch and interact. Very exciting and completed exhibition.
