Museum exhibition around conserved, still wooden tree trunks found in open pit mine . Thus on developments in region several million years back. Most explanations also in English. Nice collection of crystals from region too. There`s also interactiv stuff: looks pretty and well done - elas Hungarian language only.Still worthwhile to visit though even for non-H. In same building is nowadays Herman Otto museum

A small museum introducing earth’s history on a well designed way that keeps your interest and your children interest too.
Explains a lot about the history of minerals and archeological finds together with the story of people exploring them in the past twohundred years.

It is a really interesting museum where you can get to know many things about the history of the Earth, especially about the Hungarian part. The whole exhibition is professional and correct with many interesting information. It is good for children, too, because there are many games which help to understand the geology more.

A very interesting interactive museum, especially recommended for kids from the age of 6.
Often visited by school groups.
Plan approx 3 hours for the whole visit, and have a good cup of coffee in the museum café.
Parking may be a problem, as there is limited place for cars. If you park next to the sports hall, be sure you buy a parking ticket or use sms parking (no registration is needed).
