The place is nice. I guess the hotel is nice inside. We haven't stayed there. The gardens were supposed to be renewed, but they looked as nobody takes care. Or not in a good way , at least. Parking is not free.

After riding the Forest Train we stopped and walked arisen the gardens and hotel. It was rainy and quiet but the sites beautiful we did not venture into the hotel or other establishments. My 10yo and 4yo enjoyed the gardens, waterfalls, cave inlets and winding paths.

We stayed at the Palota Hotel, it was quite grand with good facilities, but quite expensive for Hungary. The staff were not as good as they could be and attention to detail could be improved. There was very little information on what one should do and any attractions in the area. The visior centre by the train station just above... More

This little town used to be a "workers paradise" during the Communist regime and the castle like hotel catered to the proletariat. Today it has been transformed into a beautiful hotel, near a lake and surrounded by trees and park. This is a great place to get away from the noise and dirt of Budapest and enjoy the fresh country... More

This is a must to visit, not too far from Budapest, you can spend the day there as many activities are available. There is a train ride that will get you to a fish farm, where the fresh trout is served. They have a smokehouse and smoked trout is a treat also.

Lovely walks around the town on well signposted trails. The scenery around the lake is very pretty, and the town was quiet. We enjoyed walking through the woods, and waving at the train as it went past.

You made the first step to have an almost breathtaking experience. This place is not a wonder nor a miracle, but as you walk in the hanging gardens of the Palace hotel, glaze the waterfall, enjoy a cup of coffe at the Palace hotel's bar, or you take a long tour or a short car ride to the trout pond...
