A 200 year old castle renewed 2014, with an interesting museum inside. But the main attraction is an amazing 3D light painting show on the external walls of the castle performed every evening after sunset with a duration of 45 min.
The castle is only 25 km from Gyula, a nice city with a forteress and next ti it a great bath with termal water and wellness facilities..

We went there with the family to celebrate. We had a very delicious meal in the restaurant and it had a very atmosphere. There servers were polite and helpful. The food was amazing. We visited the museum as well and it was interesting. At night we watched the 3D show. It was amazing and the story was good. Overall I would recommend to anyone to visit the castle.

Have seen this three times now and it never ceases to disappoint. The program changes a couple of times a year I think? Each time I have been with various other friends and they ALL loved it. Top class and well run. You can have a look at the museum underneath pre-light show and have a drink (alcoholic or not). There are blankets available if the night air is a bit cool. I cant believe there aren't hoards of people queuing to see this however there are only ever a hand full of people when I have attended. Must be because its out of the way a bit?

First of all Breda Castle is not in Gyula but about 30 kms from Gyula, near Lokoshaza. Our favourites are the Wenckheim-Almasy castles so we traveled 200 kms to see Breda castle. At home we learned from internet that the castle is opened every day in all seasons. When we stopped in Gyula we got a booklet indicating in four languages (Hungarian, English, German, Romanian) that the castle is opened every day trough the year. When we arrived to the castle we found all gates locked under a big billboard saying that opening hours are every day. I called the phone number written on the board and to my suprise a lady said that the castle is opened only on weekends in off season. We made photos from outside of the gates and left. From outside the castle looked well renovated and beautiful. If you wish to visit the castle please double or triple check the opening time. Otherwise you travel several miles on bad country roads in vain.

The castle was comletely reconstrocted some years ago. It has a pretty good small museum. But the main atttraction is the laser show in the evening. Very good!
