Advertised as the "Medieval Erotic Wax Museum" with mixed reviews here and there - but since we were in Keszthely this summer we've decided to give it a try and pay them a visit.
What can I say - I was expecting something similar to the museums in Prague and Amsterdam... however is not like those - is kind of small - hidden in a basement ... locked and will be open to you if you are above 18 years of age.
Beside the wax recreations of some scenes - from books and some inspired by real life (the example of former president of the US - Bill Clinton ... but you know the story).
Some figurines inspired by the Kama Sutra ... and sketches/painting recreations ...was less than I've expected.
It may be interesting for visitors who did not saw similar exhibits ... and it may worth 25-30 minutes of your time (should you have time to spend).
Overall not bad ... but still not as "spectacular" as expected.

Came here as it's just round the corner from holiday home. After reading reviews on here I was expecting it to be a lot more erotic than it was. Personally it's quite tame and not much information. Took about 5 mins to walk around

This museum by itself is a bit more expensive than the others in the group of seven, but it's also larger than the other ones I saw, so I didn't really think it was overpriced. It's nothing amazing if you've been to larger sex museums in Amsterdam or Korea, but it's quite entertaining for what it is. They have a lot of scenes from various erotic literature throughout the ages and have built wax figures reenacting a few highlights. Like the other museums in the seven, they charge (but don't enforce) a 400 forint photo fee, which is the only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars.

Overpriced, dank, dark, terrible lighting and smells bad. Only a few wax figurines, mostly pictures. Hard porn, not erotica. Skip it, unless you're really into this kind of thing. We're actually sorry we wasted money on it.

This one is also part of the 7 museums in Keszthely which we can visit with one collecting ticket. The museums are not big, so 1 day is enough to walk them around or go back next day. The erotic museum has small a collection of lithographs, paintings, drawings and few stuffs not just from middle ages but later and from other cultures as well. The unique of this place is that they created scenes from wax figures based on their collection, so about 16 or little more scene is visible in the museum (different stories, different ages). Erotic was/ is part of our every day life, and people's fantasy was the same centuries ago, just their tools were more rudimentary, however they really used everything what was possible to enjoy this part of life. It is interesting to look around, but strictly over 18, and for those who are not prude;) I took more pictures and more piquant ones, however I am not sure this is the site to show them. If someone is in Keszthely and visits this group of museums, have a look around here, too...

This is a relatively small museum but has a lot of things to offer, including a large variety of wax statues representing common sexual performances in the medieval times, as well as some local and international sex artworks and paintings.

It isn't that expensive and it can be done within 15 minutes but the novelty of this strange museum is worth seeing. It is just odd.

Well it was different. I liked the creepy basement. How do I describe this? Medieval themed wax dolls have erotic sex. Good for some Instagram photos. But I felt the concept could of been developed a lot more, written factual information on historical sexual practices ect
The great thing is you can buy a ticket for 5000huf that not only give you entry to this museum but to 7 in total. It is an amusing way to kill a few hours

An 18+ exhibition comprised of medieval illustrations and some of them recreated with wax dolls. Not as good as the one in Prague, but worth a visit.

Museum is worth visiting because of interesting presentation of medieval "erotic" scene. The only thing that I didn't like is very bad light and it was very hard to see some pictures.
