This statue is not far from the Cathedral. We were walking down from the churh when we stopped for some minutes. Ferenc Liszt was one of the most famous Hungarian composers. Our friend is a musician, so we had to take some photos of him with this statue of the great man.

Just a quick walk from the main part of town and close to the Basilica. Well maintained gardens around the statue. Worth a visit.

Ferenc [Franz] Liszt wrote the 'Mass of Esztergom' for the 1856 opening of the largest church in Hungary, the Basilica at the top of the town. Walking from the Danube River up to the Basilica you see this tall statue at an intersection.

Not obvious on tourist maps and could do with better signage. Worth a visit if you are heading up to the Basillica and are collecting musical references for your trip!

Special design, in a historic place. Liszt Ferenc has composed music to consecration to the church "Bazilika" on the hill.

This striking sculpture attarcts a lot of attention and for obvious reasons. Liszt was an extremely talented Hungarian known around the world and performed in many of the great halls of Europe. This memorial is quite fitting in this small city.
