Even if this museum was in London or Liverpool it would be impressive. The owner, 50 something, began his collection at age 9. There is a very well-done 12 minute documentary before you begin your self-guided tour. We took our two children (3 and 6) and they loved it. You can play guitar, listen to music, watch videos and just gaze at all the cool Beatles stuff.

We thought this place would be so yesterday... but on reflection it was a day in the life... of our holiday! There was no trouble finding it and we asked for an English speaker and we saw her standing there. We were just day trippers and weren’t looking for a hard days night. We went into the ground floor and saw the film and as we went into the main exhibition thought, this is getting better all the time!
With love from me to you, Beatles fans from London.

This museum is a must-see for Beatles fans. The owners spent apparently a considerable time collecting all the gadgets, magazines and artifacts related to the Liverpool Four. The visit starts with a 12-minutes long short movie about the childhood of the Beatles (that was in Hungarian but might be available in other languages as well). Afterwards you start your visit at the ground level where all the information is available in both Hungarian and English. There're lots of photos, covers, etc. within a relatively tiny place, I must admit after visiting the Beatles museum on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg I still learned a lot of new things and never had this intense Beatles experience. The ticket costs in March 2016 2000 HUF (equivalent of 6-7 EUR). The place is located a bit outwards from the city centre so make sure that you know the directions well in advance.

Dear Fotos82,
Thanks for the nice review. Yes, actually the short movie has English, German and Polish subtitles and we are working on Slovakian and Russian subtitles as well.

Eger is one of the most beautiful cities in Hungary. It's quite simply a hidden gem. Besides the castle, wine, shopping, medicinal baths is a WONDERFUL Beatles museum. It was started by a BIG Beatles fan who has a great collection. The museum is an unassuming home but when you enter, you are amazed by the collection. They have Hofner bases that you can pose with and take photos. I went alone so the wonderful Host took photos of me with various guitars and my favorite Hoffner base. He was very friendly and we talked a lot of Beatles. He speaks very good English. He invited me to see HIS band play and he certainly made my afternoon in EGER a wonderful experience. Highly recommend when you go to Eger, Hungary!

I have been a Beatles fan since the beginning of the Fab Four. I loved their music but I was not into collector items. But also for people like me, this place is very nicely done. It takes you back to being a youngster. A feast of regognition. Incredible number of items on display and so much types of merchandise. At the end, I played Here comes the Sun on Lennon’s Epiphone electric guitar. All youngsters of age 60 or more must see this. And all the others too. It makes you feel young again!

Went to visit the Beatles museum in Eger and was welcomed by a very kind host who told us about the museum and who as a start of the visit led us to an air raid shelter to see a film from the childhood of the four Liverpool-boys.
The museum was started by a nine year old boy during the communist era. A most extraordinary thing to do especially because he is not really the Beatles-generation and western music were not well seen. The owner met with Ringo Starr eight years ago in Budapest.
It also was possible to be a beatle-guitarist for a day on both acoustic and electric guitar. And of course listen to all the wonderful music, known as well as unknown in headsets.
The museum is one of five museums of its kind in the world -and in Eger of all places! Well done! 👍🏼and many greetings from us. Hope that many people will visit this museum.

A museum of the four Liverpudlians created by Hungarian Beatlesmaniacs in Eger, in walking distance from the main bus station and the main walking street (Széchenyi utca).
There are relics from all over the world and not only albums or concert tickets but pins, clocks and even porcelain. Sometimes it made me feel there wasn't enough room for them. Fortunately, we had a lot of time to slowly discover the place but I could not help thinking of what if there had been a group of schoolkids or pensioners (or any group counting more than 5 members) visiting.
The exhibition is very detailed, the guides are very kind and there are a lot of possibilities for interactive engagement.Totally recommended.
(rumour has it that sometimes, one of the guides just grabs a guitar, sits in front of the building and sings Beatles songs :)
