Real medical thermae and well furnished Spa.
You can spend the whole day with about 20 €.
Pools at various temperatures, water park, saunas, steam rooms, infrared and ice cabins.
All employees speak German, just a little English.
Advice: to close the wardrobe lockeŕ you need a coin, 100 Forints or 50 Euro cents.

I and my family visit Bükfürdö regulary, because we like it! There is many pools with hot thermal water - in winter is really pleasure to bath outside! The prices are not too high, there is a lot of options, how to save money. All signs are in Hungarian, German and Czech and also the staff speak all this languages. There are possibilities, where to eat (inside in winter, outside in summer) or where to eat your own food (it is allowed and many people do it). You can visit 3 different areas (they have their separate prices, or you can buy mixed tickets) - thermal area, then something like aquapark and then sauna world. I absolutely like this place - it is recommended to spend 30 minutes in the thermal pool and then 30 minutes rest on the deckchair (there are many of them) - so, your day is only about hot water, relax and eating (and of course drinking their excellent wine).

The thermal water is good whereas the management is poor. The bath is poorly maintained based on normal European standards. The staff is focused on rules that seems to be based on the past before it became part of the EU. For example students are only recognized with a very uncommon type of international student card that is unknown in almost all other countries.
The prices increased whereas the service is still unchanged. The prices are at almost a the same level as thermal baths in Austria whereas the level of comfort, quality and service has much lower level.

very bad experience. we were 2 adults and 1 kid, we spent about 15000 forint, about 50 euro.
we speak hungarian, so no misunderstanding. the price list is very complicated, many different options and nobody explain what to do at the cash desk. inside the bath, very hard to find the right way, even the exit is difficult to find. i discourage to visit this place, many other thermal places are better in hungary. my wife is from budapest, so we complained with administration, they said " you have to read the instructions carefully before to enter". place to avoid. enrico

I would definitely recommend visit if you are fan of sauna and combine it with spa.
Complex is divided into 3 sections (spa, sauna world and adventure part) whereas spa and sauna is not for kids younger 14 years. So everybody can find its place.

Spa is quite crowded and healing water smells in inner pool area. It is much better to experience outside pool with temperature of 35-36C, pleasant even in low outside temperature.
What I love is sauna world (if you do mind nude), but reasonable culture...nut as much nude as in Germany. You can choose between variety of saunas and I especially like nice smell, light, space arrangement and outside garden with pool and cooling pool, where you can relax. Also staff is very friendly and they offer sauna ceremonies number of times during the day.

Otherwise complex out of main building is quite boring. I actually stayed in Sarvar and was traveling by car between Sarvar Spa complex and Buk Spa complex (about 20 km) as Sarvar is nicer city and Buk is better Sauna world.

It started with a very unpleasant cashier - maybe she just had one of the bad days, but she forgot to tell us about the locker and then when we returned back to buy it, she just ignored us even if we directly asked her at least twice to sell us the locker. OK, half an hour gone, we finally got to the resort. All the attraction are super, kids can have a lot of fun... But once you want to get into the thermal healing water with your kid, because you have nowhere else to keep him, you will be taken out of the pool. I mean kid like 10 years old or so... So not a very best solution for a family holiday. Apart from that, this thermal spa is nice, moderate clean, has a lot of... I mean A LOT OF attractions, so if you hit the right employees, you will enjoy it.

We booked into a pension in the area for a couple of nights and spent a day at Bukfurdo health centre. This is a very big spa with many different pools and facilities. It is very busy. They have an excellent therapy centre with many types of therapies to choose from at excellent prices. The outside adventure centre was closed when were there as it was winter but the outside thermal baths were open which we thoroughly enjoyed. My partner and usually prefer smaller, quieter spa centres but we really enjoyed our day here. There are also several great restaurants outside the spa and a small shopping centre.

The bath was crowded. The staff was not helpful. Someone lost my towel. The staff just said "yes it can happen" the spa was good but not enough good to go back. There are lots of other better thermal baths in Hungary.

I don’t doubt the water helps with number of medical issues, but this spa staff and organisation is just terrible. Right at the front desk, you have to prepare cash (and only in Forint) if you decided to go to Sauna as well (1000HUF deposit for rubber band). Also have some Hungarian change (100HUF) to be able to lock your locker (you won’t be able to lock it without the coin being inserted). Another surprise awaits you in Sauna world. In case you didn’t bring your own blanket (of course you didn’t) prepare some extra 1000HUF in cash as a deposit - yes that’s correct- only in Forint, only in cash. The lady refuses to take Euro (we only had 50€ bill) and was “very kind” to point us to closest ATM 30 meters from the main entrance (just to make it clear - it was 10 degrees outside and we were both in wet bathing suits). Returning the tickets to sauna was out of question as lady at the front desk made very clear to us. Another, slightly better option is to buy something in Euro in Spa restaurant and get back change in Euro - which is still very inconvenient when you’re visiting a Spa for a day and have no use for extra few tens thousands Forints in cash. All in all - good for regular visitors who don’t mind to carry waterproof case with cash on them all the time. But still - the attitude of the stuff was just terrible, I am not exaggerating if I say this attitude ruined the whole trip for us and it’s very unlikely we will ever come back.

I highly recommend this place. It is I. The middle on the nature, full with trees and green all around. There is too many baths to count! It is very cheap to go inside and also the food prices are cheap. Around 25$ for 4 people lunch. The place feel very high quality although the low prices. Don't hesitate and go there
