In just four worthwhile hours, Monika gave us an enthusiastic, insightful and efficient introduction to the grand city of Budapest. We started on the Pest side, walking up Andrássy boulevard with its mind-boggling mid-19th century mansions. She pointed out details that we would otherwise have missed, along with giving us valuable historical insights. She treated us to some special strudel which, as it turned out, was the best in Central Europe. We proceeded to Liberty Square and then took a metro to Pest, where she told us about Matthias Cathedral and the Fishermen's Bastion. By the time we had finished her tour, we had a viable plan for maximizing our remaining day-and-a half in the city. We were lucky to have such a charming lady for our guide.

Monika was extremely knowledgeable. What we really liked about our time with her were her personal recollections of her life and experiences in this incredibly interesting city. I would highly recommend have her as your guide on first day you are there - gives you a great overview re the city as it is a HUGE city!

Monika is one of the most knowledgeable guides we have ever had. We have had many private guides. She integrated the history and politics with every site. Great personality.

Monika provided an excellent introduction to Budapest. She was gracious and highly informative and covered a wide range of topics from the practical - how to use public transportation, best times to visits sites and strategies for orienting oneself in the city- to the cultural and historical. You will fall in love with Budapest on this tour.

Monika was an outstanding guide. She communicated the history of Budapest with a depth and richness that made our trip more meaningful. If we could revisit our trip to Budapest we would request her services for more than just one day. Excellent.

Monika provided a comprehensive overview of Pest on our 4 hour walking tour. Her in depth knowledge of the history of this beautiful city was stimulating, challenged us to think, and provided a timeline of important moments in the history of Budapest . I came away with a deeper undrerstanding of the city and it’s culture . I highly recommend a tour with this group and truly enjoyed our 4 hour tour with Monika . She also made excellent restaurant and other site recommendations, and treated us to the best strudels that I’ve ever tasted !!!

This was the highlight of our time in Budapest. Monika was such a lovely person and so knowledgeable of Budapest history. We wish we could have booked her for another tour later in our stay. I would highly recommend her. It was like sightseeing with a long time friend!

I would definitely recommend Monika from My Budapest as a tour guide. She was a wealth of information and learning about the history and local customs enhanced my experience of Budapest. Our additional half-day tour of Godollo Palace was much more meaningful with the information she provided. Monika was also very helpful in answering questions such as where to find an ATM and orienting me to the public transportation.

I would highly recommend My Budapest Tours if you are interested in learning more about the city’s history. Monika, my guide, was wonderful at orienting us to the city, how to use public transportation, and taught us some local customs. She provided unique insight along with the less known history of Budapest for the various sights we visited during our stay.

One of the most memorable experiences on our recent trip to Europe was our 1/2 day walking tour with Monika. She taught us how to navigate the city (both the Pest and Buda sides), took us to key sights of historical and cultural importance, and even treated us to strudel! We learned so much from her and the stories she shared brought life to this fascinating city. Our 16 year old son also enjoyed it! A great investment of our early time in Budapest!
