Shop Evaluation
Apr 2019 • Solo
Great shop. The shop owner Bálint, he takes the time to explain every single detail of every item that he sells and is always available for questions from the clients. In the shop you travel in time, with real items from Hungarian folklore and art but as well historian items from communist times, soviet union and any country you could imagine. I order as well from home, and all items were delivered in a quick and safe way to my home. I would definitely recommend to visit this shop, is definitely a hidden pearl in Budapest.

A bit of everything

I was looking for an authentic drinking stein, that wasn't a mass produced one that every shop sells and found it. It's got a great variety of things from textiles, statues, authentic World War items and things I wish I knew more about. I could have spent hours looking at everything. It is a bit tricky to find though, it's down a lane with a few other shops. Next to the lane is an antique style pawn shop. Wouldn't recommend that place. Just continue down the lane instead.

Most reliable place for souvenirs, not tourist trap.

The little small family business is quite unique, the shop atmosphere is amazing. A shop filled with authentic Hungarian items, antiques and vintage stuffs. The products made by artisans in villages, meanwhile the prices are reasonable. This little shop is the best option to discover real, original Hungarian and Carpathian produce. The quality of products is respectable, you can find something exceedingly original. The prices are comparatively low for something really gorgeous, unique and traditional. The owner is extremely helpful and has a lot of knowledge about the products background, because these products are not cheap kitsch. They selected their product with great care, because each product has own story.

Shop ethnic, shop ethically

Step off the main Vaci utca promenade into one of many small family run businesses to discover real Hungarian and Carpathian produce. The goods in these stores are genuine products made by artesans in vilages, so the benefit of buying here doesn't just stop here but is distributed to homeworkers far from the centre. The quality of stuff is good, it has already lasted a long time. You will find something really original. The prices are comparatively low for something really beautiful that is not a cheap imitation. Also a much more atmospheric way to shop
