The staff were self-righteous and dismissive, one felt deeply surprised when I only wanted to buy one Montecristo cigar. The building was very beautiful inside, but the humidor had multiple humidifiers all belting out water vapour like a scene from Blade Runner. Totally over the top and a sure way to ruin all of the cigars in the place.

I stopped in looking for Cubans. They do have some Cohiba, Monte Christo, Romeo y Julietta, Hupman and probably others. Seems they were inordinately expensive even for Cubans. I also was uncomfortable in there. Two salesman in the walk in humidor at the top made me uneasy. I'll probably get a few.

I read negative reviews on this place but could not believe it was that bad. It was. I went looking for a specific cigar. The salesman showed me something in the same family then got disinterested when I didn't go with his recommendation.

If you enjoy hand-rolled cigars ( and accessories ) and you are in Budapest this is the place ( in fact the only place 🤣 )
It is reasonably easy to find. Just head to Fashion Street and you cant go wrong.
The cigar section is on the 1st floor, and there isn’t a lift, so not disabled friendly.
Ot has a decent range of New world brand cigars, and a smaller amount in Cuban(s). The prices are much cheaper than the overtaxed UK ( which is a huge bonus )
The staff are quite knowledgeable and friendly if you conduct yourself in the correct manor whilst in a humidified area, ( as some customers did not )
Good place for cigar smokers, and although I would say the humidification system isn’t ideal, the majority of the cigars I purchased there, were in good condition.

On trips abroad I always try and buy some cigars, a fellow surgeon and close friend and I enjoy a cigars now and then despite knowing full well we shouldn’t and totally disapproved of by my wife and daughter. So when they went shopping I asked the concierge at our hotel, the Four Season Gresham Palace, who directed me to the Cigar Tower which he said was only a few minutes walk. The shop assistance told me had only two types both sold individually, one was priced at 375 HUF each (under a pound each) and the other a Mexican brand at 750HUF each (under two pounds). I could see there were other cigars under the glass counter as well as boxes on the shelves. But he had no interest in either showing these to me or even acknowledging they were for sale. I have no idea why this was the case, my only conclusion is that because I am of Indian origin he instantly took a dislike to me. I have never had that reaction in any place I have been to previously and I have to say any prejudice is abhorrent to me. I strongly believe unless we all stand up and be counted against any prejudice, be it based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation etc etc things will carry on as they are. I would strongly recommend to fellow cigar smokers to give this place a miss, after all there are many places in the world we can buy good cigars and be treated like a human being. In case the management of Cigar Tower want to take any action over what I say, I went there on 9 Sept 2015 at 2.20pm.

Well it is not really an attraction, it's a cigar shop. My review echoes others, aloof staff that are sometimes a bit rude and unhelpful, expensive prices - in some cases triple the price of Swedish shops I usually buy from, and a poor selection. The one thing it has going for it is that it exists in central Budapest and is an accessible place to get cigars.

The place looks beautiful and I liked the idea of trying a few cigars I've never seen (mexican). But felt immediately on edge when the staff seemed to have to constantly see my hands (fair enough, theft could be an issue) and the sticks were in boxes that didn't match (singles are kept in tubos boxes). Found two I wanted and 3 I thought I'd take a €40 risk with, after scanning barcode i was told the 2 I wanted cannot be sold. I walked out at that point with shouts from staff saying I needed to pay for the other 3.... no I don't have to pay

The concierges at the Four Seasons Gresham Palace told me not to worry about packing cigars for our six days in Budapest. They of course were correct. The attentive young man at the Cigar Tower asked me a few questions about what I regularly smoke, guided me up a stairwell, and to a case of fresh and properly stored Cubans. For approximately $120 (USD) I had all the cigars I needed for our stay and enjoyed a couple each day while in Budapest. Of course cigar smokers tend to group up at the same places, and even when separated by language and culture, we all shared our fondness for the large humidor and service at the Cigar Tower. In an age where a good cigar shop is almost a throw back to a gentler age, Budapest is blessed with just such a place in the heart of the city.

I forgot to take some cigars with me before leaving to Budapest but felt really lucky finding this place! They have a broad selection of both very cheap (and to me also unknown cigars) and the well known and more expensive ones like Montecristo, Cohiba, etc.
I'm not so sure whether the cigars all well kept. There is a machine spreading humidity but it's not the same as the real walk-in humidors I'm familiar with.
I read some of the reviews before going here and was really surprised about what I read. To me there was no rip off, no exorbitant prices or unpleasant sales man to be found.
So my advice: just go there, buy some nice cigars and enjoy!
