As indicated by other reviewers this is a bath for locals which added to the charm. We were probably the only tourists. It felt so good sitting in the pool outside when the outside temperature was in the 40s. There was a station where you could fill your bottle and drink the spring water.

Visited this thermal and wellness spa on 3rd July as it was a last minute trip and close to apartments that we were staying in.
Firstly and most importantly, I would like to give a WARNING TO WATCH YOUR CHANGE! I was given an older 10000HUF note in my change, which is no longer legal tender, I didn't realise this until my nephew pointed it out to me later that day when I was sorting out my money. Luckily, he offered to take it to his bank and gave me a new note. I find this very deceitful and dishonest of the staff in the spa to pass it in to a tourist, they warn the same about taxi drivers but I would have thought a business like this would just bank the old notes and not try to swindle their customers!
I actually wouldn't recommend this spa anyway, the old tender money was just another thing against it!
It isn't the biggest place in the world, despite being one of the cheapest, I don't think it's worth the 2500HUF (£6.70) it cost to visit and we only stayed for about 1 hour.
I read somewhere that it had been recently renovated, so dread to think what it was like previously.
The changing area is kept fairly clear/dry by staff with mops, but I'd definitely recommend that you keep your flip-flops on throughout!
The area with the lockers seems to be mixed sex and I could only see 3 changing cabins by the toilet and shower area.
Inside has 3 baths (38C, 36C and 20C), a sauna and ice area. There is a massage area too but I didn't use it, so can't comment.
Outside there are two pools (38C and 36C), a couple of grassed sun lounger areas and from the outside you can go to a further sauna, bath and toilet area via steps down underneath the building.
I didn't think much of the cleanliness; despite having to shower before entering the water, ALL of the pools could do with a really good clean, there was ingrained dirt on the floors, scummy marks on the steps and at water level and the tiles felt slimy to touch. The sauna/toilet area accessed from outside smelt of stale urine in the whole area, not very relaxing or good for my 'wellness'. It was absolutely vile and I left as soon as the smell hit me!
I would recommend that tourists visit the more touristy and better maintained baths. We didn't have time so as previously mentioned, this was a last minute trip, although I did consult trip advisor first and it had decent enough reviews. Perhaps my standards are higher or perhaps I was just unlucky. Either way, I wouldn't recommend this place and certainly not after their staffs sly behaviour!

We don't cheat just your nephew made a mistake.
The older 10.000 HUF is a legal trender in Hungary. You can check it at our National Bank website: https://www.mnb.hu/en/banknotes-and-coins/news/detailed-summary-of-circulating-forint-banknotes
I quote it for you: "Remains in circulation; the MNB will provide information about their withdrawal at a later date."
We are sincerely apologize for your inconveniences.

It has everything what is needed for a relaxing afternoon, saunas, baths, buffet and sun-beds. The entrance fee is very reasonable. Everything was good, we had a very good time here.

Spent few hours there switchin between the normal, hotter and outdoor pools. And also tried the sauna which was really good and clean. It was full of local people, probably I was the only one foreigner, and not so crowded. Price is affordable. Really nice place to enjoy the bath not the view

I found his bath to be clean, tidy utilitarian, but not to have the charm of my favourite (Veli Bej). I bought a ticket for both inside and out, I think if I went again Id just go inside. Outside is nice if you like to sit outside but I felt a bit surrounded by windows looking at me and a car was parked by the side, it sort of felt like an afterthought stuck out in the car park. I loved the jets and sat in front of one and under one to massage my back. Careful if you sit on one it fills your swimsuit up with air bubbles, which was kind of funny. The indoor pools were more restful for me, but I felt I needed one at around 26-28, cool but not 20 which I couldn't manage to go in! My wristwatch malfunctioned too,it let me out but not back in and then it wouldn't let me leave the complex, Luckily it did let me have my clothes back! No problems, someone let me out! All in all, nice and good value. Access to everything and a locket was 2400 HUF

I had read reviews of the better known baths in Budapest and there were many descriptions of people feeling confused or that they missed out due to communication gaps. The Dandar Baths is a place for locals, but I was welcomed and assisted in English at every turn. I enjoyed it so much, I went back a second time.
The baths are easily accessible from Tram 2. They have secure lockers for your stuff and plenty of changing cabins. There are 3 indoor pools; very hot, hot, and a freezing plunge pool for after the sauna. Neither of the 2 outdoor pools is very hot, so you can spend lots of time there. It was busier in the afternoon than in the morning, but it was never overly crowded. All in all, a delightful experience.

We were glad to have you among our guest. In addition to your recommendation, we must add that there are two outside pools available and two saunas as well. Thank you.

Now...a premise...I am not a tourist. I am here to do some work. I do not like places full of tourists, because some tourists behave poorly thinking that...because they pay, they are entitled to be rude. Hence, being August and being Budapest overcrowded ...I am not going to Rudas Bath, which I love very much...All the touristy things are off for me.
Gladly, I discovered a place for locals. A few foreigners. But mostly elderly locals going to the baths to be...healed.
It is a no-nonsense place. Architecturally...rather basic and not pretty. Water temperatures...37, 30 and 20, so...not much choice. BUT...it has a fantastic two-pool cum spa outside. A 37 and 38 degrees...same water with all the good salts. There are jets of water as in a Jacuzzi, plus the big jet that massages your problematic joints (but one has to stand firm below the jet).
I bring a book and relax for two hours without noise, without selfies (no selfies!!!!!!!!!), with the simple music of the Hungarian language in my ears. There is a little garden and people come with food. There is a small cafeteria. They do not provide (or I did not ask) towels...One pays 3500 Forint for an all-included. Bring your bathing suit and a towel. There are cabins to change and a locker that functions with the gadget you are given for access. Shower before you go in as in any other furdo in Budapest. I then do not shower once I am tired to soak in warm water, to let the goodies keep doing their miracles on my skin.
So nice to be in the open, all is quiet...oasis...
It opens at 9 am and it is usually not crowded. I found my little piece of paradise. As it is basic, no-nonsense, no frills, no-selfies I hope that only those who love just to have a healing bath rather than "an exilarating experience" may try these baths. As I mentioned, they are not fashionable or fancy or "turkish". More...Hungary in the seventies.

Very small pools inside and outside. This is not bad though. A small but beautiful garden by the pool.
They couldn't find our reservation. Nobody can speak English properly. We couldn't get out in the end, since the electronic wristbands they gave were not working.
Since the weather was fine we had a good time in the pool.
The massage is another story. I would not recommend to anybody. There were one male and one female therapists. Both were well over 150 kg. They were rude, and since they don't understand English you cannot tell them what you want. Only a strong back massage. they didn't rub the front of the body, not the legs and arms.

As an alternative to the crowded, expensive thermal baths in Budapest, this place is perfect. We really enjoyed our visit and tried all the pools and sauna. The outdoor pools were fun.
