These baths are out of the city center and that's good because there are few tourists, especially locals. The place is simple and well-kept, the staff present and efficient. 2 pools outside, 3 inside + sauna and massages. Lockers with Lockers. We have a good time there, far from the mass tourism of other thermal baths.

Ive been to many of the Budapest Baths in the past 20 years but somehow missed this one which is a bit off to the side and stated to be a locals spot. I went there for the thermal baths (inside) and a 45 minute massage. Its small and simple, not grand like the others. Tired as well, I couldnt find a steam room and the showers were closed off near the changing area but were available downstairs. The massage was very light, basically a bit of a lotion rub. Price wise it is not as high as the others but if your visiting and have a day go to Rudas or Veli Bej and be impressed. This place had two warm pools and a cool one and a packed sauna. I wish I paid more to go outside for the two pools out there. But probably wont return. Also - fyi its stated as a locals spot, it may be true but I still heard a lot of english there.

Overall an average spa.
They do not properly care for the garden (where you can pack down if you want, on the grass), because at some places there is no grass, on other places there are weeds, also at rather hidden places the grass is full of twigs fallen from the trees.
The design of the building is unpleasant because it is not straightforward to navigate in the building; there are a lot of winding corridors.
On the positive side, you get lockers which you can unlock with your bracelet, so you don't have to carry around keys with you, this is great.
Also, the staff is rather kind.

I wouldn't go back. Of course, the cost is excellent and a ticket with a security locker costs €9, but the environment isn't great. The internal pools are small (one at twenty degrees, one at 35 and one at 38) and one small
Finnish sauna. We didn't try the external ones because it was too cold. The hygiene conditions leave a lot to be desired, which is why it wasn't a truly relaxing experience for me

Smaller than the other Budapest baths and cheaper as well. Be shure to buy a suplementary ticket for the outside pools as well. There is a discount ticket from 5 pm. Nice place not crowded. There is a newly built uotside doubble thermal pool with boubblers, and brand new sauna and steamcabin. I love the outside pools especially in winter when its snowing..

I recommend this place. I hate tourist traps so I decided to give this place a try. It was close to my hotel and I was super sore from hiking around town the prior two days. I booked a massage to begin two hours after I arrived. I was extremely excited about the value ($30 something for time in the facilities and a 50 minute massage).

I’m a red blooded male, and always will be:

The debacle happened when a burly man showed up and directed me “remove clothes” while he stood there and watched. The second I felt his giant man hands rubbing on my calves I politely asked for a female. After he wrangled the manager and we conducted a 10 minute meeting about why I’d prefer a female massage therapist (while I’m draped in a towel mind you), the manager said she would have a female available in 2 more hours. I declined, and asked for a refund. They happily obliged, and I went on my way.

I realize this is strictly a cultural difference and I don’t blame anyone. Being from the US, it’s generally assumed that a female would be conducting a massage on a male - generally unless specified otherwise. Moral of the story, tell them upon entry to the spa if you’d prefer one sex or the other as your therapist.

Another thing to note is that the only thing that separates the massage areas are some light (almost see through) curtains. It’s much more of a hospital vibe than a spa. So, make sure you’re cool with that if you want to do the massage thing.

No blood, no foul. I’d still recommend this place.

Dandar bath is visited usually by locals. It is cheap, 2600HUF for thermal and wellness ticket which allows you to use outside pool (2 pools), sauna, inside pools. Inside there are 3 pools with healing water- 38 degrees C, 35 and 20. Everything would be great but the toilets and showers are quite used and not clean. Do not buy cabin for 500HUF, lockers which are included in price are much safer. All pools we not crowded even it was weekend. Stuff was fine.

Dandar is an unknown bath for foreign tourists, but a wonderful place to relax. Clean, with friendly staff, very good conditions offered to the clients. And the price is more than convenient compared to other bathrooms.

This bath was on our to do list before we came to Budapest, and we are very glad we went !
Mainly locals, and very friendly, with a very reasonable entry price (worth getting the combined ticket for Indoor and outdoor baths).
It was a very hot afternoon and there were plenty of sun loungers available, plus a very friendly guy that ran the cafe (you could take drink and snacks up to the grassy area).
Best thing about this bath is that it's not crowded at all and makes for an extremely enjoyable 2-3 hours. We will definitely visit again.

Although the yellow line of the City tour hop on hop off bus have a stop right at the bath entrance, which is next to the Zwack Unicum Heritage Visitors centre, just a few tourists visit this spa, which gives it a truly calm and local feel. Last summer a modern open air pool have been added to the retro feel bathhouse with a new steamroom and finnish sauna in the basement, but to use them you have to upgrade your ticket with the so called wellness ticket at an extra cost of 700HUF (approx. 2,5€). All in all, its the best value for money spa in Budapest.

Thank you, it’s a real pleasure to have a foreign guest who is sensitive to the peculiar atmosphere the bath reflects.
