For us, this tour tops all private tours we have done in any city, and we have done many. What did it for us was the perfect combination of history and food. If you want to get to know a city fast and well, this is certainly the way to do it. Before our arrival, Anita was in frequent contact to ensure that she planned the perfect tour for us. She also gave us advice on trains to Vienna and booked the river cruise for us which saved us a lot of time queuing. Anita came to meet us at the hotel at 11am and we immediately felt at home in her company. She spoke to us about our itinerary then took us to the strudel house where we tasted an incredible selection of strudels - delicious! She also gave us a welcome gift of paprika which I will use to make goulash soup. We enjoyed the snack stops during the sightseeing which was a great opportunity to refuel and taste the local cuisine. Public transport was included in the price and the ticket that Anita bought allowed us to travel until 11am the next day. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the market where we ate even more. Anita, knowing that I like baking, bought me ground poppy seeds which are hard to find in the UK so that I can try making some of the delicious cakes at home. When we got home, she sent me a number of easy to follow recipes (she also works in a cookery school). Whilst in Budapest we did encounter problems with a certain taxi firm and Anita helped us tremendously, this was 2 days after the tour! I cannot thank Anita enough for making our visit to Budapest so special. We can't wait to return and will recommend Anita to our friends!
