We stumbled upon this bar on our first night in Budapest and went back every night! Staff were polite and spoke good English, cocktails were very good 😌

Great wee cheap pub in Budapest with cool communist era decor. Don't get the bad reviews for this place. The beer and cocktails were excellent and as cheap as you'll get. The 2 bar staff we dealt with were sound. Especially the bald fella, with the beard and glasses. Spoke away to us about what Palinka to try. Music is mainly heavy rock/metal.

Never experienced a bartender so unfriendly.. really - lighten up and show some enthusiasm for the people coming and actually spending money in your bar.
We’ll never go there again.

Only visited once during our 5 night stay as this bar was just around the corner from our apartment.
Tiny bar area that people seem to like to crowd around despite there being seating elsewhere. The staff speak English but appreciate a little effort with the local language - even a 'Szia' (pron "See-yah" meaning "Hi!") Is appreciated here in Budapest.
Drinks were relatively cheap, although not the cheapest we found in the city ruin bars.
The decor as atmosphere is very dark. Very red and with some interesting art and graffiti. The toilet is pretty grim which seems to be a theme with the ruin bars. Bring plenty of hand gel and maybe some spare loo roll. The music was pretty awful, hence us leaving after a couple of drinks. Heavy rock isn't our thing but we appreciate that it may appeal to others.

We were extorted in this bar. We bought 2 rounds of drinks, there were 4 of us. When bill was brought over we were asked to pay the equivalent of 240 euros for 8 beers. When in confrontation with staff about price they locked the doors and threatened us until we paid and left. Ruined our experience of Budapest. Please avoid this bar. Bad people.

I was a bit sceptical after reading the more recent reviews but me and the mrs had a great time, didn’t smell as others stated, the staff were more than friendly, nice and cheap, an overall good vibe
