About
The players are our number one priority. When we opened our escape rooms back in 2014, our goal was to build games that are not only creative, entertaining and enjoyable but also unique and surprising. We searched for our inner child - it didn’t take too long to find :) - and our final goal was for you to feel as great as possible in our escape rooms, and for you to forget the outside world, even if only for an hour. We invented and built every single puzzle in our rooms, made every small detail and piece of decoration with our own hands: we really put all our heart and soul into these games. It was and still is an important standpoint for us to avoid escape room clichés and only use new and innovative puzzles. Our experience from the past few years shows that we can surprise everyone, even players that have seen hundreds of escape rooms before. Here at E-Exit the lovers of padlocks and the admirers of new technologies can equally find the most suitable games for themselves.

Neighborhood: District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.

We booked in as a couple to the Heaven and Hell room. Having read the details and reviews we were expecting it to be hard, especially as we’ve only done a handful of escape rooms and never done one together. We booked last minute online so took the only remaining room and space available after seeing other great reviews, hence starting above our skill level. We loved the theme and went into it for the experience. We made it out but only a few minutes after our time was up. Our game master graciously let us finish as we were so close! It felt like a really good challenge. The room was so detailed and it felt like every part was included and used. If you’re experienced with escape rooms this is ideal, but it’s great fun even if you might not make it out!! We did another room elsewhere a couple days later but Heaven and Hell was a huge highlight of our trip to Budapest.

During our 5 day stay at Budapest my friends and I decided to try out an escape room. On 27/10/2022 we completed the "Secret Subway" and we absolutely loved the experience! The room was very interactive and challenging, and our Room Master Eszter was very kind. We liked it so much that we cancelled our other plans for the next day in order to try another room. The room we chose was "Santa Muerte" which was an equally amazing experience. This time our Room Master was David, who was very nice and actually showed us how he resets the rooms after they are completed. We helped him reset two rooms and he described the process of how the rooms were build.
The people working at E-Exit clearly have a lot of passion and creativity for making escape rooms and providing the best possible experience for the customers. If you are visiting Budapest I would 100% recommend.

We've been in the Santa Muerte room with my friend, and it was great fun. We loved the lack of keys and locks, which in our opinion usually only make the game slower. Everything was electronic, so we could have focused only on the game, instead of struggling with locks. The riddles were very surprising, but also quite straightforward, it wasn't very hard to notice what we should do next. We managed to escape in 46 minutes, so it wasn't a very hard room, it would be perfect also for not very experienced players.

As first time "escspists", me and my partner really enjoyed the Santa Muerte room, which, from our understanding was designed for inexperienced participants. The game master Szilard gave a good introduction and explained quite thoroughly on what to expect and what to focus on before starting the game. In general we had a great first time experience and managed to finish it a few seconds pass the time limit (60 min). :-) as a fun bonus, the game ended with us exiting through a tube shaped slide!

It was an awesome experience. We (2 people) played the secret subway room(s). We already played a lot of Escape Rooms and so we also managed to solve this one in time. It is quite challenging, so you need to know what you are doing.
The riddles were divers (logical to physical), good and very much fun.
There were a bunch of awesome special effects.

We can not only recommend this room, we can also recommend our Gamemaster David, who's introduction was very good, as also the postprocessing.

Thank you very much for this great experience! We will definitely come back.

My boyfriend and I played 3 of their rooms: Santa Muerte, Heaven & Hell and Secret Subway, and enjoyed all thee of them greatly.

Santa Muerte is the easiest (although this room, among others due to my colour blind boyfriend trying to solve something that turned out to be a colour puzzle, almost made that we did not get out in time), the other two are somewhat harder. All three are very well made and tactile rooms—and the set of secret subway has downright amazing features. At the same time, they’re very different types of rooms.

Heaven & Hell has an elaborate series of creative puzzles and an amazing flow; in a word, the room was FUN. Santa Muerte is pretty, with some intuitive but not too difficult puzzles, much less densely packed; I suppose it would serve especially a group of beginning/intermediate escapers. They spent 2 years building Secret Subway and this is clear from the room(s): the steampunk-setting is amazing, and I really enjoyed the sense of progress in the room. Maybe the only thing about Secret Subway is that the puzzles in the middle section are maybe too easy for the function that they have in the game.

So overall: great and varied rooms, recommend to everyone!

We've played 8 escape rooms in Budapest with this room being the best by a margin.

This room is non-linear to a certain degree, contains no padlocks (all electronics) and has a great theme.

I do recommend this room for experienced players. New players should avoid this for the time being

This escape room was very unique, from the mechanisms of the rooms to the concept of keys not being once and done. Highly recommend the secret subway room. Also, David, the game master, was very helpful and friendly. Overall great vibes and the perfect Friday night date.

Best Escape game in Budapest !
We were spending a long weekend in Budapest and wanted to try the famous escape games.
After a quick google research we found E-exit and tried the Hell and heaven room (with no prior booking the staff was just helpful and happy to accommodate a room for us)
I don’t want to write any spoiler but the atmosphere and the originality of the rooms, puzzles, decors made it a great experience. So the next day we came back and met David (aka Jessica/Amanda) who is so passionate and always willing to discuss and give explanations on his job, the rooms, the creation and maintenance of a game : so interesting !
Definitely a big thanks to him and his good mood !
So we played in “Santa muerte” and again what a good surprise : some of the things were funny and interesting ! Definitely worth a game here too !

And believe it or not but it made us come back the day after for the long (75min) “secret Subway” room ! Again a good game full of surprises and unseen puzzles and tricks !
The debriefing was again very interesting with David who shared so much of his passion !

Compared to others places in Budapest, you feel that e-exit really cares about your feelings on the room, the difficulties, the things which could be improved and of course they know their rooms by heart (which is not the case everywhere else unfortunately …) so they can share stories and anecdotes about them !

Price is correct and definitely worth every forint !

We will definitely come back to e-exit if we have to come again in Budapest and will be looking forward to playing the VR room they may implement !
