Bought a goosedown duvet in their little shop. The owner explained the manufacturing process and was very helpful. Product we bought is top quality. As we live in New Zealand the owner offered shipping for free, which offer we took up. It arrived promptly 10 days later in our house. As it came vacuum packed we were a bit apprehensive , but it turned out to be the same top quality product they sold us. It fits perfectly on our bed, is very light but keeps us warm. Thanks Elfenbein for this great duvet, will certainly recommend this.

It's the human element for me. The kind of service I received here, especially at this price point (comparable quality duvets are much pricier on the market), is unparalleled! Looking for a duvet to keep me warm during a Hungarian winter I walked into a small factory in the basement where you will be buzzed in. It is easy enough to find as signs outside will lead you there. What a special atmosphere walking down the steep wooden stairs to land in Elfenbein's heart of operation! Even though I arrived close to closing time, Tamas (owner of the place and fluent in English) took the time to show me the workspace and explained about their down quality and cover options. After weighing them in my hands, I opted for the Luxury Quality with 750 filling power which makes for a lightweight premium product. Tamas was so generous to give me a student discount on the duvet and an even bigger one on their luxurious Bamboo covers! Everything is handmade, so you can get custom sizes. My order was ready for pickup the next day. I felt like a princess sleeping in this set.. what a delight! And talk about attention to detail: the duvets have ties sewn on that attach to loops in the covers to prevent the insert from slipping around inside the cover! I went back the same week to order another one as a Christmas gift for a loved one. This small company is such a special find. There is only on choice for bedding and it's Elfenbein in the centre of Budapest for me. I am recommending this place in my circle and hope they won't ever run out of business!

Excellent value for money. Bought for us and for our son (Student) two big comforters and four big cushions. They will last a lifetime. Got tremendous service. Tried them out the same night. Never slept better. We will definitely come back with our friends to this unique basement shop which is for its quality on par with Hungarian shoes, Swiss watches and similar handmade luxury goods but at a reasonable price. We will spend a third of our life under these comforters. Can only recommend if you want the best.

We went to the factory, a family owned and operated business, to purchase a beautiful Hungarian down comforter and pillows as a souvenir from our Budapest trip. Tamas was knowledgeable and helpful. The turnaround, from the time we selected and ordered to the time of picked up, was extremely fast. We purchased the top quality winter and two firm pillows for side and back sleepers. In the evening when we get into bed, my mind goes to the beautiful city of Budapest. It is light and keeps us toasty warm. It was a wonderful experience .
