- Huldahl1 contributionOne of the bestThis October we visited Richard and his “Pirate Cave”. We are a Family of 5 who have tried about 50 Escape Rooms. This Room is one of the best we have tried. Nice setting, a good Story and some very fun puzzles to try. Even though this Room is placed a little outside the Centre, it is certainly worth a visit.Thank you for your positive review! I'm thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed the game. I appreciate your kind words about the setting, story and puzzles. Farewell, and may the adventurer spirit be with you always! Captain Richard Tak for din positive anmeldelse! Jeg er glad for at høre, at du og din familie nød spillet. Jeg sætter pris på dine venlige ord om rammerne, historien og gåderne. - Arnie5 contributionsUnexpected real-adventureIn December, we had the opportunity to visit a truly fantastic escape room. The game incorporates very interesting elements, including a realistic setting and locks from the 1800s-1900s era. The tasks were understandable, but we needed a bit of assistance :) We also had a chat with the game master at the end, who was very kind. I believe that even though the game is not located in the heart of Budapest, it's worth going and trying it out. For me, it provided a better experience and gaming environment than many high-tech rooms. I could immerse myself and enjoy the game. I recommend it to everyone!I'm glad that the authenticity of the room added a lot to your gaming experience, and that we had a great chat at the end of the game. Best wishes! - Sparkles207 contributionsThe best escape room!Let me start by saying that this is the best escape room we have ever done and we have done about ten over the last three years of various styles and varying difficulty. The pirate cave in Budapest is fantastic for so many reasons: the set up is brilliant. From the very first activity you are having fun and the different tasks you have to complete are all different and so interactive. The props and decorations used are brilliant and Richard, who welcomed us was great too. We also needed to move the time of our initial booking and that was no trouble either. We did it in a team of one adult and two children aged 12 and 15. It is a little tricky to find but if you follow the instructions sent to you with the booking, you will be fine. You need to go past some high rise buildings then turn left and you go into an industrial / business park. That’s where it is located. We absolutely loved it and will be recommending it to all our friends. We did the room in English language.Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I'm thrilled to hear that different generations of the family enjoyed the game and found the set, tasks and decorations to be "brilliant". I do appreciate your recommendations and look forward to welcoming your friends in the future! This is a well-built room, with a nice variety of puzzles. The physical interaction with the room was good, and there is a piece of interaction halfway through the game that is Disneyland-fantastic :)
The final puzzle, however, I found incredibly frustrating. Nothing wrong with colour puzzles per se, but in this case the colours were so similar that it was hard to distinguish between them—which made it challenging in the wrong kind of way. As a result, we were struggling with the puzzle even though we more or less knew what to do. Pity, because coming out of the first room our flow was real good, but because of the final puzzle we left the game feeling somewhat unsatisfied.

A really fun, amazingly themed room! A little bit out of the way, but not too hard to find if you get the metro and it’s absolutely worth the journey. Being English we were a little worried about not being able to understand the puzzles, but as it says on the website everything in the room is really clear and the friendly host spoke perfect English too. Won’t spoil any specifics, but there were some really amazing moments in this room - you’ll know when you see them. Puzzles all fit within the theme, and you can tell a lot of thought and care had gone in to making the whole experience feel like a proper pirate adventure. Would definitely recommend!

We did 7 escape rooms in Budapest and this was our favourite. The story is very interesting, the puzzles are unique. We have never seen anything like it. It is a multi- room game, and it has just the perfect number of puzzles. The way you get hints/clues is also like no other. Everything is very well made. You are guaranteed to enjoy it even if you don’t succeed. We were only 2 people, personally I think this is best played in small groups 2-4. The game master is a star! Thank you.

This escape room is worth a visit! The gameplay was logical, the puzzles were quite witty and the decoration is nicely done. We tested it in two (we have done around 20 escapes in total) and got out with just few clues. Highly recommend!

We did it as a team of two and had a great time. This is absolutely worth the ride out, but it is a bit of a ride. You cannot walk here from the center of the city. Would be awesome to do as a family of all ages!!

Are there any live actors during the game? My kid is over 12 but might be scared if there are other people in the game...

Hello, there is one pirate themed room, and it's about 30 minutes by public transport. Booking is available on the website. Map is in the contact menu.

Hello,
What is the maximum numbers of people that can attend at any one time please? There may be 8 adults in total. ☺

Dear Katrina,
TravelDiaryCZ is right. You can try to play in an 8-person group, but if you split in two teams, it is much more fun. Really worth it, because the communication is better, and you will probably play with all puzzles. Regards, Kate

There are 8 of us and one is a 2 1/2 year old. Can we bring her with us in the room? We are traveling from the US but we don't have a babysitter for her

Dear Tara,
In this adventure escape game there are realistic light and sound effects that would be scary for her. This is one reason why the age limit is 12.
Thank you for your understanding!
Yours faithfully,
Kate

The website says this is for children over 12, does this mean accompanied or unaccompanied? we would like to take our 10 and 11 year olds. I have emailed but no reply.

Dear Mrs_Haitch,
I replied via e-mail a few days ago.
As Janos wrote, Pirate Cave Escape Room offers two versions:
1) One for only children at the age between 8-12. In this case several challenges are different and the game master personally assists them during their game – no adults can enter.
2) The „normal” game is only from age 12 and includes adrenalin raising effects.
