Wonderful set of shops. Run by a women’s collective. They all make the goods and work in the shops. There’s clothes, handbags, shoes, jewellery, children’s clothes and more. Worth a visit and the cake shop is fab too - Augustus I think.

Beautiful courtyard. Going In There put our expectations high, handmade items in a very nice place environment. But there was slinky a few tiny shops and most of them were closed. It could have been a fantastic place the idea and building has all potential but they didn’t succeed according to me. I hope they get more artist to open shops there and that they keep the shops open and smile to people who make the effort of going there...

Dear Alexandra! Thank you for your review, we are very happy that you have visited our beautiful courtyard! :) We try to publish everywhere that some showrooms opening hours may differ, but unfortunately its not possible to inform everybody. Paloma's speciality is that our showrooms and workrooms are not shops, in most of the rooms the designer itself is there and they cannot be there all day / every day. Only some of the designers can afford a salesperson who can help on some days. We are are very sad because it must be very dissapointing to find some showrooms closed. Our designers are working hard that sooner are later they can keep their showrooms open regulary. This is our main goal! We hope that your enjoyed what you see in Paloma and visit us sometimes again! Best wishes

Stumbled upon this courtyard quite accidentally. I went to check out the handbag brand Fiser and found it located in an old shopping area now converted into a creative hub with different craft shops. Has a little bit of abandoned aura to it but was a lot of fun to explore. Also there was a nice cafeteria Auguszt in the same block of buildings. Maybe not worth a separate excursion but definitely worth popping in if you are in the area.

Once elegant but now a trifle shabby galleries surround this courtyard where several artists and artisans work and sell their work. Only a fraction of the workshop spaces were open when we were there, but it was only March. In all the workshops and shops we entered we were welcomed by charming people, and we were impressed by the quality of work on show. At this time, it was mainly jewellery, bag and fabric items. We bought lovely earrings that are totally original but were by no means expensive. Do have a look, if only to admire the architecture.

Thank you very much for you lovely comment! We try to keep more showrooms open, but as the artists/designers work and sell there, they have to create their stuff at some days. :) Hope to see you back in Paloma again!

I like to explore local design areas in the cities I visit. Paloma is fun ... the building is older and needs renovation but the designers who have collectively opened their workshops and studios here have a great place for people to explore their skill and design ideas ... My husband bought a beautifully tailored sports jacket in one shop ... it is one of a kind ... along the street toward Paloma, there are other interesting Hungarian shops to discover, a shop that sells Hungarian traditional articles of clothing (better than you can find in Grand Market and reasonably priced) and one of Hungary's oldest crystal factory outlets, AJKA. Go to Paloma. Note: the street in front is currently under repair and the entrance to Paloma, looks a bit sketchy, but it's an adventure ... Right?

The courtyard is beautiful and there are several interesting and some of them even kind of affordable local produce shops, though seemed like only several are working. It is definitely worth a visit, but it is a bit ghostly, especially in the evening.

It’s a joy to visit this centrally located Hungarian custom designer co-op whenever I’m in Budapest on business. The quality of goods offered, from jewelry, clothing, handbags, shoes to art, printed paper goods is absolutely amazing. No need to go to WAMP-it’s here every day. I especially love New Accent, whose handmade concrete jewelry has amazed all those fortunate to receive her gifts. A shout out to Erika Fülöp-she always is creating something new!

Paloma is a wonderful place if you are looking for something special. Design studios surround an attractive courtyard and each shop is special in its own way. I was looking for a unique gift and I found it here. I could also relax with a drink and a snack in the courtyard afterward. The shop owners / assistants are friendly and welcoming. I hope that more spaces get rented out so that it becomes a real hub of creativity and design. Please visit and support!
