The Duna-korzó (Pest Promenade) features a number of sculptures that enliven the riverside walk. The perky little bronze statue (more a statuette than a statue) of the petite princess (Kiskirálylány) is one of the most charming. It is notable for the relaxed natural pose of...More

All little girls are Princesses. Her crown is made of newspapers and her robes, are bathrobes. It is how this 6 year-old girl dressed herself while playing in the garden. The sculptor László Marton got it right. The original from 1972 is in the national...More

Lovely statue by the River Danube called the Little Princess based on the sculpture of his 5 year old daughter. It’s iconic in Budapest.

We loved Budapest's bronze statues, scattered all over the city. They were quirky and worth a photo. This one is on the Danube promenade about halfway between the Chain Bridge and the Elizabeth Bridge. Difficult to get a good photo of it though.

Statues in Budapest is beautiful, and great artworks, with the little Princess no exception. We almost missed it due to its size, but we lucky to see it. It is not only beautiful but provides for some great photo taking opportunities as well.

District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube,
with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The
Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica
stand out as two of the finest examples of
architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for
more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval
city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while
the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention
