There are around 100 room escape games in Budapest. We chose this one as it was within walking distance of our apartment.
We initially booked over the internet via email, which was straightforward. The games are mostly logic based, with some skill and pair working elements included.
We were allocated the 'Fairy Tale' room and the moderator explained the rules before we started. We were allowed to ask for a clue up to three times and as a team of two, we took advantage of this. Some of the logical links are a bit tenuous, so you will need a few hints to ensure you are on track to escape in time.
We enjoyed so much that we booked to play each of the other three rooms (Cowboy, 'Sweet Escape' and Tower) over the remainder of our stay in Budapest.
The moderator on the second night spoke English less well, but was a bit more lenient on timing to compensate.
We were treated really well - and offered drinks and the chance to freshen up before starting on the last night after a day of sightseeing in 38 degree heat.
The games are very good value for money. Teams of 2-6 people are allowed to participate in a room.
On completing the rooms, we were given fridge magnets as a memento of the event.

I booked this as a surprise for just me and my partner. We found it ok just using the map system on our iPhone.
I was a bit sceptical when we entered the room, but the game was brilliant, very logically, really really fun. Defiantly a highlight of our trip. Only negative I booked a package with drinks and birthday cake and the lady knew nothing about it and it wasn't available, however this was quickly rectified with a discount price.

We visited as family (2 parents, 2 uni student children). Even with only English language skills, we were able to make a booking online without difficulty and navigated our way there on the train. There are no language based puzzles in the escape room. The other reviews were very helpful (work as a team and remember all clues). Everyone had skills to contribute. Often it was random information gleaned in school classroom end-of-term activities or recollection of a similar puzzle that helped us out. We forgot on the final puzzle to let all team members have input and when we called for help, lack of language skill meant poorer communication and the puzzle was done for us instead of us just being given a hint or pointer (we still had spare time). We left having really enjoyed the challenge of our first escape room and reflecting on the hidden strengths of family members! Not dark or sinister. Not claustrophobic (the walls don't go all the way to the ceiling).

we visited this as a group off 4 after a recommendation from friends.
It was a very enjoyable way to pass 1 hour, we didn't escape the room in the end but we great fun trying.
The key is to work as a team and communicate with all clues you find

First time we had done anything like this. We were in the Gingerbread-room with our 9-year-old daughter, and it was really exciting. When we came out, her first question was: "When are we coming again?"
The staff is pretty nice and the puzzles are great!
If you want a cool program with the kids, choice the Sweet Escape!

Had a very exciting time in the Cowboy room at Sweet escape. The counter was counting down so our challenge was to find the bandits before they spend all the stolen money. In the rush of the finish we miscalculated the code of the last lock so we were late like 5 seconds. It was a very joyful event even if we could not get out in time.
