It is a fantastic experience to visit the National Theatre. Not only is the park special, but the Madách International Theatre Meeting is also held here. Within the MITEM festival you can see a number of performances with English subtitles. It is an incredible experience to watch performances in Japanese, Italian, Chinese, Spanish, Polish, Romanian, French or Manipuri. There are performances from 58 countries around the world. A total of 400 companies with around 7500 people

For most visitors this complex with its beautiful surroundings is on the outskirts of the visitors realm, (it is an enjoyable walk along the banks, if walking is your thing), the theatre is designed like a ship, very P&O esk, the memorial park that surrounds it, is worth a visit in its own right. Definitely a must for the off the beaten track visitor of Budapest.

An absolutely wonderful build. It should be visited by any tourist arriving in Budapest! The whole ensemble, the theater building and the park that surrounds it, have been harmoniously realized and will delight your eyes. In the park, there are some nice statues, probably characters from opera houses that play on stage, all interesting and worth photographing. In addition, the area where the theater is located is a modern and much, much quieter than the one in the center of Budapest. Enjoy!
