Neighborhood: Margaret Island
For Budapest, this island between the banks of the Danube represents a green oasis, especially during summer when its emerald spaces are much enjoyed by both locals and tourists. The gardens here are very picturesque; the flowers in full bloom give the landscape a variety of hues; the fountains add an air of freshness, making walks peaceful, joyful and romantic. A leisurely stroll will uncover a variety of sites, even the ruins of a medieval Franciscan church and convent are still visible.

The staff lied and said there were open reataurants inside when there werent. No where on the site sid it say that there was no food inside and that only 2 mini pools are open.
Also, the staff were very rude about the lockers. you get a special bracelet that opens ans closes the lockers - one employee was mad at me for not knowing how to use it - but no one has showed me how. She pushed me to the end of the lockeroom to use distant lockers. Awful service. Would very much not reccomend to tourists.

Having already been to the other more touristy and glamorous thermal baths in Budapest we decided to explore Margret Island. The pools here turned out to be equally as great in a more functional and quieter way. We were there in February so not sure how it is in peak season but it was absolutely gorgeous lying in the sun on the slopes of the outdoor thermal pool with the locals. We love a lido in the UK so it was brilliant after so much lying around in hot pools to get a proper outdoor swim too. Clean, lovely changing cabins, free hairdryer, bus to the door….. another easy and soulful day in Budapest.

Inside the isle Margit you can spend your whole day in this place. Slides for all ages, several pools and attractions. It can be reached by bike or public transportation. Food, snacks and small shops with bathing stuff to buy. All affordable prices. Strongly recommend for the summer days and combined with a visit in the island it makes a perfect day for all. Also one thermal bath pool available to experience.

Nice place, also in wintertime. Not crowded at all, quiet and cozy. The stuff is quite friendly, although hardly anybody speaks English, or whatever understandable language. We liked really huge swimming pool, great if you really feel like having some workout. Saunas quite small, but ok. The one I really recommend is aroma sauna.
We also liked the neighbourhood - a nice park area ideal for walking or cycling.

Go here on a hot day, get a bed as well and chill for hours. This is a great place, mostly used by local Hungarians, but way better than the more touristic baths in the city. They don't have a lot of lockers though, so don't bring too many valuables. There are extra lockers near the baths though to store your stuff when you go in. Great place overall. Good food options as well. Get a bed in the back of the park, I recommend.

A wonderful day out. Great for kids and adults. Spotlessly clean , food good and reasonable prices for a pool- very honest staff- we lost a kindle and headphones there through our own fault, and had them returned after several days. In my m=ind much better than the other baths.,

We loved this place - much more for locals than tourists (and hen/stag). We had excellent and great value massages, there are plenty lockers for your valuables, and for architecture fans it is a modernist gem. Plenty indoor and outdoor thermal action. Plenty af food and drink options and very reasonable. Would definitely visit again.

We have spent a couple of hours in this amazing bath. It's easy to reach it thanks to the free shuttle that take you from the tram stop till the bath entrance.
The baths are huge and there is the chance to do many activities, we have enjoyed a lot the 30° pool. Our kids have had a great time in the kids area and in the inner ones. Too bad that they dont provide any towels and there is not the chance to buy them, at least when we went all the shops were closed (2nd september).
Overall we really suggest these bath cos the background is fantastic, there are many pools and slides and they are not very crowded as the most famous ones.

We enjoyed our day at the Palatinus Strand Baths. Nice facilities, clean grounds. Kids enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools for them. We enjoyed the massage jets and the wave pool. Loved all the trees and green space. Very much appreciated the lockers. Reasonable price.
