If you have a chance to see them - DO. Not only do they play superbly, but they often do things other orchestras don't; e.g., singing as a choir. Their staging of operas and ballets with the stage running through and over the orchestra are very special.

One of the best orchester in the world. Iván Fischer the art director and chief conductor of the orchester is brilliant. As they tour worl-wide, you can lsiten them not only in Hungary.

We saw an amazing performance, in a fantastic venue for a very reasonable price when compared to orchestras in the UK. I would love to see them again!

Hungarians are proud of having a famous orchestra (BFZ) which is well known on each continent and plays classical music. Lucky foreigners also have lots of options to listen their concerts close to their home as the orchestra is on way all the time. This Monday we attended the event for Ivan Fischer's own compositions at Milennaris Teatrum in Budapwar. And in the past we have been present on many concerts at other Budapest locations: the rehearshal hall of BFZ, Academy of Music, MÜPA, Italian Culture Centre. Before each piece that the orchestra going to play the leader, Ivan presents it to the audience verbally. This will ensure for sure that you have a wonderful experience since you better understand the music!…
