About
Private photo tours in Budapest. I am Zsuzsa, professional photographer, tour guide and also an artist. Actually I have been in the travel field since I was born. If i am not travelling i like to meet expats and travellers in my hometown Budapest. I speak SPANISH, ITALIAN, ENGLISH, GERMAN and intermediate FRENCH. Combine discovering Budapest, the Pearl of the Danube and improving your photo skills! I always tailor-make the tour to your needs, so it can be just a sightseeing tour where you take photos, or some proper photo lessons, or a tour on a specific topic like night-photography or street-photography. Just write me and we will discuss the details.

I got a private photo tour with Pogacia Photo in Budapest. Zsuzsa from Pogacia Photo contacted me before the tour - if I had any preference and to tailor my tour. We meet up a few days later and had a Coffee before heading out in the urban jungle. Street photo is some kind of extreme sport walking up in people faces with your camera. Zsuzsa was very relaxed with that, which made me more relaxed. We walked around and took photos and talked a lot. I got plenty of information about Budapest at the same time. It was a really nice hang. Zsuzsa got a very pragmatic view on photography and is a very god listener. I was in very good hands. She even got me to take photos in colour and start up photo book on Budapest. I strongly recommend Pogacia Photo for guided photo tours.

With our guide Zsuzsa Bakonyi we delved into all corners of Budapest spending a week full of information and photos. Zsuzsa was very professional and kind and allowed us to discover things that a normal tourist cannot see. We can only thank her for her helpfulness, punctuality and knowledge.

It was a pleasure to spend several day with this amazing Italian couple. They were already very experiences photographers, but mostly in nature photography, so it was an honour to guide them into the different world of urban and street photography. I cannot wait to see their slideshows which they usually create from their works.

My 4 hour tour with Zsuzsa was both informative and enjoyable. She was not only able to explain me my own camera very well but actually got me excited to shoot with manual settings! I continued to do so the next day and got some really nice photos! Zsuzsa is also really good with people, acting more like a friend than a tour guide. Highly recommended also if you want some insider tips for Budapest.

Hello, thank you, I am so happy, especially that you made friends with manual mode. Now you will shoot like a BOSS :D
I hope you enjoyed the rest of your days.

Little did I know when I prebooked this tour that I would choose the coldest, rain/snowiest day in April history! To my great good fortune, I had an amazing day with the delightful and talented Zsuzsa. We used the wet weather to our advantage to get some very interesting shots throughout the city. We spent dry time inside a Ruin Bar taking advantage of the many photo opportunities that can be found inside these kitchy places. I am a relatively inexperienced photographer and Zsuzsa is a patient teacher. I learned so much from her about using manual settings, that I rarely returned to auto for the duration of our trip. She was excellent at assessing my wishes and creating a tour on the fly to make best use of our time.
I highly recommend a tour with Zsuzsa of Pogacia Photo Tours!

I went out shooting with Zsuzsa for two days in Budapest last July and it was absolutely fantastic. She was extremely flexible in working with me. I wanted her to take me to the locations that were off the beaten track. She quickly understood my bent and while she suggested me the usual must-see places, she took me and introduced me to eclectic streets, Capa photo museum, an antique camera store, and several places that I would never have figured on my own. She made me feel at home in Budapest and shared several stories that helped me connect with the place and the culture. She is extremely easy going and makes the tour a lot of fun. I was in Budapest for four more days and the rest of my stay became more meaningful after my tour with Zsuzsa.

I had a four hour photo tour with Zsuzsa on a rainy Budapest day and ended up with some wonderful photos. She is a great guide - knowledgeable of the city and its hidden attractions, technically excellent, and with a great artistic eye. I really appreciated her insightful guidance and was surprised how quickly she could assess my style and push my creative boundaries. Serious and amateur photographers will learn a lot and enjoy a lot a tour with Zsuzsa

We met Zsuzsa Bakonyi on our first morning in Budapest for a scheduled tour. My husband and I are very novice photographers, and Zsuzsa was great ! Very patient showing us how to see things just alittle differently, and make the most of our camera. And the "tour" part was wonderful also, we covered quite a bit of ground, but at a relaxed pace. When making the reservations, she was very easy to communicate with, and made suggestions as to what we might want to see. And our pictures are beautiful, thanks to Zsuzsa ! We highly recommend her.

My wife discovered Zsuzsa Bakonyi's tour involving a photographic tutorial with a history based walk around Budapest as something that would interest me as a keen photographer and historian.
Zsuzsa's passion for her city, its history, especially of the 20th centur, and a different approach to photography were obvious and really something special. A real highlight of our holiday. Zsuzsa will taylor the session to the client's requirements and in my case the photographic advice was exceptional in that it covered a few areas that I could remember and was able to put into practice to goos effect, much better than a flood of detail that overpowers. The historical detail and information were both so passionate and clear.
If you want to learn a different way to take pictures, however good you might be, and get a real feel for the views of the people of Budapest for their city this is the tour to take. you will see and hear about things you will not get from tourist or intellectual tours. Just talk to Zsuzsa about what you would like and leave it to her. You will not be disappointed and four hours will pass in a flash leaving yo to want to come back again.
This is a trip I will remember for a long time and one I would love to do again.

I only had a few hours in Budapest, and I wanted to see as much as I could in that short time. Since I am a shutterbug in addition to a wanderer, I decided to look for a guided tour of the city. I almost signed up for a group bus tour when I stumbled upon this private photography tour. I'm so happy I did!! From initial inquiry to the day of the tour, everything was very pleasant, smooth, and professional. I was in touch with Zsuzsa to discuss booking, interests/sights, payment, and any questions. She was great and seems to really know her stuff and care about visitors' experiences. She was going to be out of the country when I visited, so she arranged my half-day tour with her colleague, Józsi, who was equally wonderful. Józsi and I emailed about the specifics of what I hoped to see and confirmed the tour details, meeting time, etc. He greeted me at my hotel and gave me a very thorough tour of Budapest covering history, architecture, anecdotes, and many things in between. At the end of the tour, I realized it was a little bit later than the scheduled end time but he was very flexible and wanted to make sure we got everything on my list checked off. (And we did!) I would recommend this tour for people like me who have a short time in Budapest and want to absorb as much as possible from a local and also for people who want to learn more about what their camera can do. So much better than an impersonal group tour and you can linger if you see something that catches your eye (and move on if something just doesn't grab you!) Thank you Zsuzsa and Józsi!

I had a very good half-day tour with Zsuzsa. Budapest is a beautiful city, full with amazing panoramas and photogenic sites. Zsuzsa is an excellent guide with very good background about Budapest's amazing history and buildings. She helped me finding the best places to photograph. Although, the weather was not perfect, but we did enjoy the tour and made the best out of it.
