About
ROMKERT, which evokes the best nightclubs of Western Europe, will be open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday - so to speak - it is surely the ‘Nightclub of the Summer’. During the day a waterfront oasis, and in the evening, a superclub cooled by the winds of the Danube, are embodied in one of the largest catering investments of recent years. We will have plenty of opportunities to take a look at the weekly renewable premium program offerings, so everyone can find the most ideal opportunities for them. What is definitely guaranteed is the unique, four-dimensional sense of experience!

Neighborhood: Gellért Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.

This place is the best. The DJ was doing such an amazing job that I can wholeheartedly say that it was the best club DJ'ing I had ever heard. The vibe in this place is just great and they have a happy hour between 23:00 (i think) and 00:30 which means two vodka-tonic for the price of one (or whatever other drink you fancy!).

If you are looking for a great place where to spend the night in summer, you found it!
You can have everything, from a crazy wild dance floor to a great VIP Section where people can enjoy the music and the atmosphere and have a chat like a Sky Bar.
Located on the river of the Danube, on Pest side, it's really the only place you can enjoy the hot nights of summer.
It's a must to visit!

With a group of friends we decided to give Romkert a try this summer. After a day in the city, with backpacks we hoped they would have a locker room/storage of some sort. Unfortunetly there was nothing like that in the place, so we couldn't enter the place. Yet we didn't give up, and eventually came there just for the party, so without bags ;). This time there was no problems entering, and we could join the party. It was semi crowded, on a warm night. Unfortunetly the dj was not as good as the one who was there when we attempted to enter the first time. The dancing place is pretty spacious, with a good soundsystem and lights. Bar is a bit overpriced, but manageable. It's major advantage is its location, next to the Danube, just at the foothill of Gellerts Hill, next to the bridge leading to downtown Budapest. The majority of the crowd was 20-30. There are some long tables to sit at, and a few bars. All in all it's a decent place, awesome that its open air, but all in all it depends on the dj. If he/she's good, then you can party hard there :) Would recommend it :)

We were a bunch of friends for a couple of days in Hungary for our friend's wedding. We were looking for an outdoor night club where we could do reservation for about 20 people for our Saturday night highlight. Romkert seemed to be the perfect place. Several articles mentioned it as one of the top 10 outdoor places in Budapest and they had good reviews. They do have a VIP sector and it's quite central. We are used to have VIP reservations, so we had high expectations.
As we arrived, we never got a beverage list but we were directly asked to order. As we know our favourite drinks, we didn't bother about a beverage list and ordered directly 3 bottles of spirits. And were quite surprised when the price was announced once the bottles served. Ft 200'000 for 3 bottles. Probably one of the most expensive places in Budapest we thought. But well. We didn't check the prices, so our fault. Let's have fun anyway.
As we payed, we didn't get the bill. So we couldn't check if the service charge was included. As the drinks were expensive enough, we thought it would be included.
Well. It wasn't. And our waiter didn't wait long to tell us so.
We are used to give tips in the end of the evening. Generous tips. If service was ok. So I told him "at the end". We had to tell our waiter regularly that our table is full of empty bottles and glasses. Not a single time someone came on his own to clean our table. And still our waiter came to remind us that tips are not included. Well. Tip is not a gift. It has to be earned. So work for it!
After a while we ordered an other bottle. We clearly said we wanted rhum, any dark but in no case white. And what did our waiter serve us? White rhum! I just could stop him before he opened it. His only answer was "that's all we have, we're out of dark rhum". Well. Than ask us, if we are ok with white rhum instead of sneaking it in!!! And guess what. He found black rhum somewhere finally...
A bit later in the night, I started joking with my best friend (dark skinned by the way) and was dancing on his laps for a little moment. Just a couple of friends laughing, right?!? I couldn't imagine in my most imaginative dreams what happened than. The bouncer almost jumped angry on us and threw a black (!!!!!) dildo on us. I didn't understand what he jelled at us, but it didn't sound friendly.
This was one of the most insulting things that happened to my friend and myself in our nightlife experience.
Well. Sorry guys. No tips for audacity and bad service.
Romkert seemed to be nice on first sight when we arrived. The public space downstairs looked friendly. The VIP space looked well designed and clean. But we were highly disappointed about the so said VIP service. I can't give any good mark for such audacity and insult.

In addition to the view and the staff, the fact that those under the age of 17 are not allowed to enter on any day also raises the standard. Great nightclub with the best DJs at the foot of Gellért Hill.

An open air bar at the foot of the Gellert Hill and the Erzsebet bridge. Typically people come here at night but the place is open at daytime, too, making it to an excellent stop after or before climbing up to the Citadella for the best view of Budapest. Wide choice of quality drinks at typical downtown prices. There is parking possibility next to it as well as tram and bus stop.

Nice location under the castle, however service, atmosphere and attitude was underwhelming. We had a good time because among friends, but next time we'll party elsewhere..

My number 1 party place. I had a great time there. It has it's charm because it is an outdoor place. For me it is one of the kind. If it is rainy just forget it. Otherwise do not miss it!
Girls, it is a rather fancy place: more gentleman less jerk.
