    Must do
Perfect place to spent a relaxing afternoon, with a couple of friends or boyfriend is the best place to hide from the stress of everyday life.it’s clean and unique in all the comforts and details, they give you all you need from flip flop and sleepers to towel soaps hairdryer and cotton to remove your make up!they have a lovely choice of tea biscuits and chocolate. The stuff is very helpful and always: I book a feet and legs massage and I end up having the best massage from the wonderful and professional Sebi who I highly recommend. Overall I was delayed of my afternoon choice.

    Lovely spa morning
Come to Budapest on holiday and we fancied something different. Fabulous morning spent at the spa. We had. 60 minute full body massage, and it was one of the best massages I’ve had. Everywhere is really clean, it’s all really relaxing, and makes you forget about the outside world for a few hours. The variety of pools was great. Steam room and sauna were great too. Wasn’t loads of people in at the same time, which is fab so you get to experience everything and really relax.

    Relaxing on high level
The whole crew has a very professional attitude, they are kind and helpful. They truly went head over heels to accommodate our requests. Everything runs smoothly, we had a relaxing, refreshing experience all together. Special thanks for the excellent facials and massages. One small suggestion: quiet noise level should be reinforced in the bathing area. Loud groups are disturbing other guests

If you know what good massages and spa treatments really mean, don’t go there
if you’ve already have sophisticated experience and know what a good massages or spa treatments really are, in this case this place is absolute NO GO for you. If it is your first time, and you are not spoiled, you can try it, no harm. My hammam treatment (30 min, about $70) was literally in cold hammam, on cold stones covered with towels 😆. I was poured warm water, got lots of soap suds on my body, and then was poured warm water again. That was basically the whole treatment. Again, hammam was cold, there was no steam, no heating. Who knows what is real hammam treatment, knows what I mean. Massage (i paid for ‚deep-tissue‘, 60 min, also around $65-70), it was very basic, no certain technics. The most unpleasant thing were old faded shabby robs and towels; this part was honestly a bit disgusting. This place seems very busy, how expensive could it be to renew your towels/robs and heat your hammams. The hammam in baths area and sauna in women change room were also cold. I visited on Nov 3 between ~ 10.30 am -and 1 pm.

    Arrogance and unflexibility
Very arrogant team, unflexibility on top. Got a voucher that I totally forgot to use up: I attended a yoga&spa event there when I realized it… it expired 3 weeks before. Sent several emails with no reply than got it: “why were you not able to use it up”? I would have expected a slightly more polite answear..

    Superb
Myself and my wife visited here for a day mid February. There was a cancellation on the treatment due to a staff sick call. The manager accommodated us on the day and we recieved alternative treatments. The spa itself is so relaxing and the best thing we done in budapest. I cant recommend it enough. Staff are extremely polite, massage is professional. There is no negatives I can think of. Its money well spent and if were ever back in Budapest we will definitely return.

    Friendly staff
I spent here a half day getting a massage and trying the bath. Their salt water spa where you can float is very unique in Budapest! The staff were very friendly which made my day. The venue was spacious and elegant.

They sliced into my foot during a pedicure
I would suggest that this spa is avoided as the therapist (who the manager said was the best they had!) took a chunk out of my heel during a pedicure. She then became completely hysterical and three other staff members had to come in and assist. It took almost an hour to stem the bleeding and frankly, I should have gone to hospital, but I had to be on a flight home 2 hours later. The whole trip home was a nightmare as I could barely walk, and when I arrived home it took another 2 hours to stop the bleeding. A very distressing experience, and I don't really think a free nail varnish is going to compel me to return somehow.

Very good treatment but ignorant staff
So I lost my hair from chemo, was treated to a spar at mandalay by my other half, which was really lovely. I had a wig on, after the spar the lady who looked after me couldn't wait until I had left. She was in hysterics telling the other lady who works there about my wig. This lady came to the lounge area to have a good look and pretended to move decorations around. It was quite disgusting behaviour, but if you are reading this don't green sorry for me, after losing hair, chemo it takes a lot to upset me. I just feel for the next lady who may not be as though as me this could be soul destroying. Thanks to the lady I met with in the changing room who understood Hungarian. I won't be going back.

    reconfriming a reconfirmed appt????
ugh. talk about hungarian customer service at its best. i had booked an appointment three months ago, and reconfirmed via email TWICE. i also CALLED the spa to make sure the correct services were booked for the correct time (and that they still honor their 20% off on mondays rule). all is perfectly fine - then, forward to the day of my spa treat. apparently they "triple-confirm" appointments via email, and since i didn't respond to some message they sent me the DAY BEFORE (clearly, i am all over checking email while on vacation) they CANCELLED everything i signed up for. they also claimed to have called me to follow up - total lie. after their halfhearted attempts to find a staff member who could perform the service, i gave up and left. they were super unconcerned that they just lost out on 22,000 forints - and to top it off, refused to let me use their wifi while i waited. really lame. the place looks nice but the service is atrocious. be sure you have a diplpomatic interpreter on hand when booking (and "reconfirming") appointments.
Thank you for your review! We are terribly sorry for the unpleasantness, but we would like to kindly inform you that in any case due to our policies we need to confirm the appointments a day before. We hope that in the future we could compensate you for the caused discomfort.

I don’t usually comment unless I have something super positive to say or I walk away boiling with frustration or irritation. I want small businesses to thrive and succeed. So it’s unfortunate that I’m taking the time out of my vacation to leave a negative review. Let’s start with the positives.
1. This is a day spa. It’s clean and well decorated.
2. The communication via email was very good.
3. They had very good teas and cookies in the waiting area.
4. The facilities were top notch for a day spa. Someone spent a lot of money to create this spa.
5. The massages were okay. You have to connect with your masseuse, and although I didn’t enjoy my massage others might find the experience to be excellent. Sometimes it’s all about technique and expectations. I get a lot of massages and understand that it’s hit or miss.

The negatives.
1. Anita was the front desk person. She’s borderline rude. Maybe she doesn’t like Americans. I can understand that sentiment. However, it’s a service role. Her job is to greet people. She is passive aggressive and does not have the proper attitude for the front desk.
2. I misunderstood the nature of the spa. Once I arrived, the front desk told me they had no affiliation with the mineral bath house. I thought I’d be able to enjoy the baths while I waited for my massage. My misunderstanding.
3. There were many misunderstandings communicating in English. I understand that I’m the English speaker with the problem. However, if you’re not a Hungarian speaker this might lead to unfortunate misunderstandings.
4. I paid for two massages. One for me and one for my wife, both for 75minutes. I thought the massages were cut short and that they were only for one hour. When I shared my thoughts with the receptionist the manager assured me they were 75minutes. I didn’t time the massage, and let it drop. Anita the receptionist wanted to challenge the issue for several minutes. I let it drop.

6. For two massages I paid $169 Dollars. I was not impressed. I expected a nice experience and instead had to endure the experience. I can’t change the past, but I can go elsewhere for my next massage.

Took a tram here to be told that they have cancelled my reservation even though I hadn't received any sort of notification what so ever regarding any cancellation? Quite surprised due to the positive reviews.

Dear Gilbert, I’m really sorry because of your experience with us. Regarding your review I’d like to let you know that since you made your online reservation we didn’t receive any response back from you. However our system sent you answer and let you know that the reception will contact you regarding your booking and request. We could prove and show you all the mail what we sent to you to ask your confirmation for the requested package. We always inform our customer that without them confirmation we can’t make a final reservation and we were also trying to contact you via mail and phone. The reception offered you solution and other option to have the package later on that day however it was not fitting with your schedule. I really apologize for the miscommunication what you had with us regarding booking but please consider the fact that we can’t keep a booking without confirmation. I do hope so that we will welcome you in the near future and you will enjoy the Mandala experience! Please, let me know if I could help you regarding any kind of further question! Regards, Nikolett Gáncsos Spa manager

I have been gifting my mother spa treatments to the Mandala Day Spa every year. She have been enjoying it very much, until this year. The pools were no longer clean, the equipment (sauna, jacuzzi) was not working and when she asked to turn them on, the staff refused to. The staff was condescending, and disrespectful to her and the quiet spaces. I have tried to contact the management but they did not respond my attempts to resolve the spoiled experience in weeks. Disappointed and won't return again.
