About
Szimpla Farmers' Market: market, brunch and community place. The market has been organized every Sunday in Szimpla since 2012. Every week we have approximately 1500-2000 local and international visitors and 30-40 farmers, mainly from the proximity of Budapest, offering their own produces. Our farmers must meet very strict requirements, our staff regularly checks how the products are made at the farms. Our vendors offer cheese, sausage, fruits, vegetables, spreads, honey, chutneys, juices, organic and non-organic, yet small farm produced delicacies in a great variety. On our first floor we offer an all you can eat brunch from the produces of the market. We have live music, and every week a different NGO cooks and raises money for charity, where you can taste what they have cooked for donations.

Neighborhood: District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.

- Chris W16 contributionsWow, what an experience!Definitely make time to visit here. An extremely quirky and fun place. Lots of little nooks and crannies to explore, and to sit and enjoy. There are some bar areas serving nice beer and Prosecco on tap.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 30, 2024

There very some local vendors but I would hav thought there would be more. The musician that was playing was very good and even though we have a 4 year old and a 9 month old I believe they got something out of the trip. Worth a visit.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 26, 2024

I would personally recommend the meat 🥩 We bought Venison which my lovely wife cooked to perfection. Sausages/ bacon jams and pickles an Asian lady gave me tips on how to make a fine chicken curry👍There was cider and ale and things to eat. Easy parking a short 🚶♀️ walk away. A most enjoyable few hours rounded off with coffee and brandy in The Fleece. The Corn Hall had stalls selling things hand made and different. Absolutely must do! This popular night spot (you must see it at night too) takes on a different hue in the daylight when local foodies come to sell their wares. There's good food to eat there and produce to take away. While there you may be lucky enough to be entertained by traditional live music.

It's a great market where you can buy local products like cheese, salami, sausages etc.. It's located in the ruin bars and the whole environment is very unique.. You can also have breakfast at the back in a beautiful yard.. Take your time with your shopping but don't miss the chance to explore the whole building (have a marker and write on the walls)..

This farmer market is very small. People sell sausages, baking goods, vegetables, honey etc. The place reminds me of the hippies in the 70's (like those in the movies). Ruin Bar is in this place too.
This place look really run-down (may be it is the whole point). I don't see any toilet in this place. It is just a very small farmers' market with unique setting. It is next to the Jewish Synagogue. So if you come here on Sunday to see both, it is still worth to visit.

I went to this market in early August and was surprised by how small it was. It's in a really cool venue, but wasn't very busy when I went, so was lacking the bustling, market vibe I was expecting. I ended up getting coffee and walking around the market and then going elsewhere to a cafe with more atmosphere for brunch.

Full of character, lots of little rooms to wander. The market had lots of different vendors selling a variety of things including cured meats, bread and jams. Live music playing and drinks available to purchase.

Checked out Szimpla Farmers Market after visiting the Jewish Quarter. What a cute little find. It's stocked full of breads, spreads, vegetables and of course....cocktails! This establishment is a bar/ restaurant by night, farmers market by day. Great place for people watching. Pair it with the Antik Placc, that we walked to, which is a (very) small flea market.

Small market with few sellers, in an old building. Opens only on Sundays.
Not a clean place. It's like a hippie style market but not in a good way. I got in for 10 minutes and left. Could became much better but the place needs renovation and someone to organize the market .

Interesting venue with quality local goods. I bought some paprika, local sausage and some amazing and very reasonably priced tea. No brunch though so we were disappointed. There was live music and apparently a cooking demonstration later.
