Dear Veena World Family,
We would like to thank you for this Wonderful Trip to 4 East European Countries.
It was a Awesome tour for me and my family and our 9 friends (12 of us travelling together). It will be more precise to give my feedback on various parameters and then come down to things in detail:
I have rated 12 attributes of my Veena World Tour on a 5 Point Scale.
5 Point Scale
Wonderful – 5 Points
Very Satisfied – 4 Points
Satisfied – 3 Points
Dissatisfied – 2 Points
Most Dissatisfied – 1 Point
Veena World Tour Attributes
1. Pre-Tour Formalities (Veena World Vashi Office) – Wonderful – 5 Points
2. Pre-Flight Briefing and Veena World Hamper (Mumbai Airport) – Very Satisfied – 4 Points
3. Tour Manager (Vivek Kochrekar) – Wonderful – 5 Points
4. Airline/Flights (Lufthansa Airlines) – Very Satisfied – 4 Points
5. Itinerary Planning (Veena World Office) – Satisfied – 3 Points
6. Itinerary Execution (Vivek Kochrekar) – Wonderful – 5 Points
7. Selection of Tourist Attractions (Veena World Office) – Very Satisfied – 4 Points
8. Transportation (Luxury Coach) – Wonderful – 5 Points
9. Hotels (Location/Quality/Breakfast) – Very Satisfied – 4 Points
10. Food – Wonderful – 5 Points
11. Entertainment (Lake-Cruise/Housie/Surprises) – Wonderful – 5 Points
12. Overall Experience – Wonderful – 5 Points
Shweta, Amar and Sharvari and Sukesh from Vashi office were very helpful and responsive.
Vivek Kochrekar Tour Manager : The way he got connected almost a week back, sending Travel Tips on Packing the bags, Do's and Don'ts, things to carry, keeping space in bags, time and date of arrival at the Mumbai Airport. My Kid knew the time, location and date of reporting by heart as i use to make her read the whats app messages. He called us, reverted to queries of my tour members during his on going tour to Uzbekistan.
For everything planned, we had whats app messages apart from telling us personal in the bus, in the lobby and at Airport. Wake Up calls were on time.
Every meal we had, he came to us and said Bon Appetite before he has his food... The personal touch, attention to detail, the passion and that every lasting smile on his face gives so much positivity. He has set and maintained such high standards of on tour service.
One Line to explain for our Dear Vivek Kochrekar : "It's Difficult To Improve On Perfection".
Now that lead to a question, do we get something same or similar tours managers in our next trips with Veena World ???
In conclusion, I will say that we really enjoyed the Veena World Europe Tour and would recommend Veena World for Group Tours. We will certainly travel by Veena World on our future tours.

We chose to do the 1 hour Danube cruise from doc 6 which was an added
option to the red bus city tour, as it turned out this was a good choice the views where amazing.
Please note, some of the steps joining the two docking boats can be steep.
When you disembark I would recommend a visit to the sculpture of shoes on the river bank outside the parliament building. it can be easily reached by catching the trolley / tram which is front of you as you get of the boat.

As soon as we landed in the city we made our way down to the river as it is the focal point. We weren’t disappointed as we caught sight of it – very wide, very lazy and lots going on around it unsurprisingly.
Throughout our three days stay we wandered up and down it as it is the hub for so many things along its huge banks.
Our intention was to have a boat ride on it or maybe even a dinner cruise but we didn’t end up doing this. Instead, we walked and walked and also took the tram which cost very little on both sides of the river.
By doing this, you get to appreciate its beauty and the Skyline from both sides – make sure you sit on the nearside to the river of the tram and get your camera ready!

When in Budapest there is nothing nicer to do than take a stroll along the Danube with a fresh hot chimney cake to snack on. The river splits the cities of Buda & Pest with a number of high profile bridges spanning it. Walking along the embankment also provides the best way to view the biggest sites in Budapest without excessive amounts of walking.
If you have the money and the time I would highly recommend taking a cruise of an evening for great views and photo opportunities.

We were really looking forward to our cruise in late August. However, we had to cancel 120 days in advance to avoid a 20% Penalty, that would continue to increase. Viking refused to extend the cancellation date, but offered a voucher credit of 125% if we booked a later cruise. For various reasons, we decided to cancel. We were then told that we should not expect our refund for at about 45 dates, or mid-June. This is unreasonable. Buyer Beware!

Loads of problems from flights to sailing distance due to water levels. Hover Scenic just ignore their responsibility and defect the blame for their failures. Trying to get them to respond to emails is laborious and I have resorted sending copies by recorded delivery to the European Director and forwarded copies to head office in Australia. I have today after 4 weeks received a reply containing misleading facts and dismissing any blame. Also due to the absence of infection controls, base on first hand facts probably 80% of pasangers left the ship testing positive for Covid. Suggest you also read their Trustpilot reviews

Dividing the city's Buda and Pest sides is the impressive Danube River. Flowing roughly 1,770 miles from west Germany through Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and, of course, Hungary, before meeting the Black Sea in southern Ukraine, this sprawling river is the second longest in Europe. Along its Budapest shores, travelers will find iconic sights like the Hungarian Parliament and Buda Castle. We highly recommend checking out the Danube River on foot or by boat. If you decide to go for a stroll, consider doing so at the Danube Promenade, which offers picturesque views and the must-see Shoes on the Danube Bank Holocaust memorial.

Of all the cities we sailed past on our Danube River cruise Budapest is the most stunning. The way the city spreads across both banks and the incredible historic sites on both banks makes it unlike any other city in Europe. We sailed from Passau, Germany to here and now we are so enamored we are planning a trip from Budapest to the Black Sea and perhaps even a city stay.

I was advised in advance to try to see the city at night on a river cruise. Fortunately the bus Hop On - Hop Off City Sightseeing tour included a 50 minute cruise up river as far as the Margaret Island. The cruise gives you a chance to marvel at all the illuminations, notably of the imposing Parliament Building, the numerous bridges and the Buda castle. All very impressive - particularly it being so close to Christmas.

We just returned from a Danube Cruise aboard the Beethoven. First off what I can say is the crew really were outstanding, we found them to be very approachable and kind. Truly made the cruise. However, the ship itself is quite old and very tired. Wifi connectivity is poor and there are few English tv channels offered. It appeared that the focus was more on the French passengers rather then the English. We've previously traveled on Avalon Waterways and found them to be much better. To be fair this trip was offered at a discount, so the old saying "you get what you pay for" is accurate. Also my wife and I are in our 50's and relatively fit. We were some of the youngest people on the ship. Based on our experience we probably wouldn't travel on this ship again.
Having said all that, the cruise down the Danube was beautiful regardless of the ship! If you go take the train tour in Bratislava, only 10 Euros and well worth it.

What are the current (12/12/22) Danube water levels from Nuremberg to Vienna? Have an Avalon Waterways cruise starting on 12/16 and are being bused past Regensburg to our boat. Very disappointed and have been tracking the drought situation since September and read these areas had a lot of recent rain and the water levels were not a problem.

I didn't noticed it if there is a problems with water level in Danube River. When I took Day Time Danube River Cruise back in end of October, no problems whatsoever with the level water in Danube River at that time is fine. We saw more old landmark buildings from the river than from sight seeing bus.
We are booked to cruise from Passau to Badapest from 11/22 to 12/2/2022. Are river cruise boats able to cruise on the Danube?

We are on a river cruise now. We were told august and early September were a problem sometimes. Especially this summer as it’s been hot all over Europe. But the Danube area is looking pretty green to me. Enjoy your trip!
Have a Viking Budapest to Passau. Cruise scheduled for early April 2023. Payment due in 2 weeks. Am concerned about our cruise turning into a bus tour because of water levels. Advice?

While one can never predict that far ahead, I just finished this cruise during low water. We did have to be bussed ONCE which was seamless. The beauty of Viking is they have so many ships, you definitely won't have your journey turn into a bus tour.
Is the low water level affecting cruises in August 2022?

We're scheduled for the Viking to Budapest cruise starting on 16 September 2022. Has anyone been on that cruise recently? If so, were there boat transfers? Did they include day long bus tours? Thanks
