District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Essentially do not go here to eat. We got ripped off left right and centre. After some sub par food and TERRIBLE service, we asked to have our service charge removed, only to be told by our rude waitress that, no she wouldn’t not remove it! We later returned, much to our dismay, and went to another restaurant, only to be served RAW CHICKEN, and when I say raw chicken I mean cold gelatinous chicken. Maybe this is a good place to drink, but as I said before - DO NOT EAT HERE.

I went for the weekend flea and craft market. Lots of vendors with small antiques, maps, jewelry, t-shirts, handicrafts and other items for those who enjoy flea markets. There are also numerous restaurants interspersed between the vendors so it’s a lively atmosphere to spend an hour or two. You never know, you may find a treasure.

It is a street with many nice places both on the right and on the left.
You certainly won't starve :) There really is something for everyone!
Whether you just want to have a drink or have lunch/dinner/snack.
On Fridays they do karaoke and it's full of young people.

A nice place filled with bars and restaurants where you can see Budapest's nightlife.. There are many options so probably you will find what suits your taste.. Even if you don't want to sit at one of the bars or restaurants there, you should definitely pass by..

I got a tip from a friend to make sure I checked out this area while visiting Budapest. Very lively area, especially at night, with interesting architecture, shops and eateries. It has a market feel with connected courtyards - a hip place that will please all ages.

I was told by a friend about this location. It has an amazing choice of places to eat and drink and is a bit of a marketplace. Cocktail bars, italian food, hungarian food its all here. The atmosphere is also very nice. Walk up and down the passage and then decide where you want to visit. It can get very busy in the evenings.

It's a very popular place, especially in the evening or at night. It's located near Király, Dob and Holló street. It's a courtyard with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. When we were there it was a market, too with interestings things and handmade products. It has a special atmosphere.

It's this street full of bars and pubs and restaurants. The entire street is decorated and vibrant. People there are helpful. Food was average in one of the restaurants I had it at. THey can improve on the cleanliness part. Overall average experience.

Im going to celebrate my 30 years old birthday in Budapest and I'm looking for a restaurant where we can eat, and stay during the night..
It seems that Gozsdu Udhvar has the party/atmosphere im looking for, but I'm not sure it has a real restaurant and not just fastfood and street food.
Can anyone help?

Gozsdu Udvar has several 'real' restaurants, not fast food. The biggest ones are Spíler, Café Vian, Trattoria Gozsdu, Vicky Barcelona, DiVino. All of them are high quality restaurants with great atmosphere.
