We attended a Saturday morning performance as they were the only tickets we could get, however we really enjoyed the whole experience. Stunning building and happy to spend 2 hours in such a place as the rain fell outside.

I watched an operatte of kalman which was spactulous! dozens of dancers with colourful costumes in an updated performance of Cancan dances and a high quality of singing. a three hours of evening delight.

The theater building is really nice, so I was pretty much busy with looking around as I was waiting for the musical to start. I liked the performance. Hungarian language is a bit hard for me to perceive, but that has no connection with Operetta Theatre :)

The building is something else, when paying to do the tour make sure to queue in the gift shop and not at the performance ticket office. Also I'd advise not to pay 500 UHF for the camera pass or to see the mini concert either no one checks your wrist band. Waste of money if you ask me. No one... More

If you stay in Budapest even for one night you should go to Operetta Theater. The one of the fathers of operetta Imre Kalman has worked here. Most famous operettas were born in this place. The Theater is gorgeous. Crystal chandeliers, velour armchairs, long pedestrian halls make your visit exiting. The Performance was great. The artists, decorations, the costumes are not... More

I like old ornate buildings so I enjoyed the tour of the opera house. It was a bit crowed since they do all the languages at the same time but they spaced us well. A local suggested we sign up for the mini concert at the end of tour. Don't do it. I thought it was going to be in... More
