A nice walk on the Buda side of the river Danube can complete the circle by crossing the Chain Bridge , following the river on the Pest side and back again over the Elizebeth Bridge

It's basically de rigeur on a tourist visit to take a stroll down the Duna Korzo, but it's worth it. It's really the most attractive stretch of riverside, with the most direct view of the Castle Hill. Catch it at sunset, and watch the Castle slowly fill with light. Pick up an ice cream cone nearby and just stroll. Yes,... More

You should start all the way from Liberty bridge upwards to the Chain Bridge..the air will rejuvenate you, you will enjoy the long stroll, don't forget to caress the Little princess's legs for some good luck, take as many pics and get electrified by the stunning river and Buda views....You will then have Budapest just in fron of your eyes!

Very nice to walk alongside danube river. You can see ships; some of them sailing, others are used as restaurant. You can sea buda side from danube embankment.

You may take a cup of coffee in one of the... More

A wonderful way to spend an afternoon is to walk along the Promenade. From Elisabeth to Chain Bridge, with lovely views of the Buda side.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
