Nice to walk along the Danube River!

Very nice area to walk along the Danube River. During the day is nice but in the night is much to beautiful to see how the lights are reflected in the Danube River. Recommended!

We have walked on both sides of the promenade along Danube River both at night and on day time. It was really an excellent and relaxing stroll. You could take time to look around and take as many photos as you like or sit down to watch the river boats cruising along Danube. During night time, you could just admired... More

If you want to truly soak up the atmosphere of the city and experience its true vibe, take a stroll down the Korzo. Simply as that. Amazing photo opportunities along the way.

Constructed for flood control and easier boat docking/boarding, the Danube Embankment is a promenade that features dozens of TripAdvisor-designated attractions, especially from Parliament (Budapest’s iconic building), past Chain/Liberty/Elizabeth bridges, downstream to Central Market. Along the way there are many other attractions, such as Shoes on Danube (a moving Holocaust-type memorial) and Girl With Dog statue. Views of Buda Castle, Fisherman’s... More

This is a nice area to stroll along the Danube River from the Chain Bridge down to the Liberty Bridge. Much of the area is lined with shade trees and many outdoor restaurants/cafes. Provides great views of Castle Hill and the many river cruise ships/tourist boats that traverse the Danube. Recommend that you stroll this area both day and night... More

A nice walk on the Buda side of the river Danube can complete the circle by crossing the Chain Bridge , following the river on the Pest side and back again over the Elizebeth Bridge

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
