Address
Neighborhood: District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.

Is a beautiful viewpoint, the truth is that you went six times just because I felt at peace, there are tours but I only took it once, it is more enjoyable visiting it by yourself or with your partner, I count the days to return to my Budapest

We took the metro from Parliament Square (Kossuth Lajos Ter) to Batthyany Ter, 1 stop and 350HUF single ticket and climbed up the steps to the top. It’s steep but if you’re fit it’s not a problem. The views are spectacular especially when sunny.
The Fisherman’s Bastion was free to walk along and is so pretty, it’s like a fairytale.
Toilets are around but they are 250HUF.

Amazing views to be had here on clear days, year round. It's situated well atop the hill on the Buda side overlooking Pest, Parliament and everything on the east side of the Danube. In this area, you can also visit churches and other sites. It's not far from Buda Castle either. The climb on foot is no joke, so take a taxi or bus if need be.

Yes its full of tourist exploring, taking photos, and gawping. I wonder why??
This place must be seen to be believed. It is glorious, majestic, and imperious. Once you ascend the climb this opens up a whole wonderful walk with sweeping views across the city.

The Halászbástya or Fisherman's Bastion is one of the best known monuments in Budapest and certainly has the best views of the Danube and the "Pest" part of the city. Trinity square contains not only the Bastion but also Matthias Church, the statue of St. Stephen and the Holy Trinity Column.
The Fishermen's Bastion's main façade, parallel to the Danube, is approximately 140 meters long, of which the southern aisle is about 40 meters long, the north is 65 meters long, and the ornate central parapet is 35 meters long. Its seven high-pitched stone towers symbolize the seven chieftains of the Hungarians who founded Hungary in 895.Since 1987 it has been one of Budapest's World Heritage Sites.
