An outstanding performance conducted by Ivan Fischer in an extraordinary place! Don’t miss an event there if you are in Budapest!

Concert.
Jan 2020 • Family
Our family of five (three teenage boys) attended a jaw dropping concert by Felix Lajkó and his band in the Bartók Béla Concert Hall.

We arrived in the night with the #2 Tram and walked the short distance to the front facade. In the foggy night the building was stunning from the exterior. Each performance venue readable through the massive glass facade and coloured with LED lights - it was a spectacle and heightened our sense of anticipation.

The interior was just as stunning and we were particularly taken with the multilayered art installation which transformed sound waves of artists into sculptural forms suspended in the space. It’s so very beautifully finished on the inside: from handrails, to flooring, to patterned curving wood walls and visually mid-bending stairs.

The concert hall venue was packed but very comfortable. We sat in the second row on the balcony and had a great view. The acoustic music was enhanced but it was perfectly balanced and we all thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

Müpa is a very beautifully designed building and the concert hall seems to be excellent acoustically.

I went to an opera there, in one of the smaller stages. The acoustic was rather dry, but sitting almost close up to the actors/singers and therefore almost feeling their feelings was great.

Very nice place

The building is amazing - you have to see this architectural piece of art. The collection inside is not very big but it is surprising. Very nice and for sure worth to see it.

Fantastic venue - top notch operas and great facilities in house

This modern concert hall is beautifully designed and seats comfortable. Wagner's Ring Cycle was sung exquisitely and the orchestra conducted by maestro Adam Fischer on top form. We had four evenings, almost 18 hours, of pure pleasure. There was a buffet served if booked ahead - at reasonable cost. The only downside is travel on the No. 2 tram; two carriages to pick up all the audience.....

One of the finest halls in Europe

Nice building. Good cafe and attached Museum. Superb acoustics. The annual Wagner days are very special. The recent Ring Cycle was one of the finest I've ever seen. Production full of ideas and in marked contrast to the tired, old-fashioned Cycle seen in New York a few weeks previously which cost the GP of a small nation (and the tickets nearly as much). Mupa is inexpensive, almost ridiculously so, imagnative, original and the standard of performance is often unmatched. It should be on the schedule of every seious music lover.

Great concert hall with unforgettable atmosphere
Apr 2019 • Couples
I have been here dozens of times. This is a perfect concert venue with charming atmosphere. Art is surely living there under the top of high selling of Bartok Béla Concert Hall.

If you have tickets to the highly rated concerts, that used to be visited by diplomats or/and Hungarian vip persons, be sure you come in time. Otherwise you will not be allowed to enter and take your seat if the concert has begun. We were late once on one of such a concert and we were asked to go to the third (the highest) floor. We could only occupy our original places during break

Wonderful building in Budapest
Feb 2019 • Friends
We walked thru the building for an hour or so including a sojourn onto the roof and came away thinking this was definitely a first class venue.

We would have really enjoyed seeing an event here but it's also well worth seeing as we did, by just walking thru and wandering wherever your feet take you. We saw a few security people throughout our visit but nobody prevented us from going anywhere. In fact, most of the security people didn't seem to care or notice that we were walking around wherever we pleased. Beautiful facility!!

Modern Budapest
Dec 2018 • Friends
After a friend’s suggestion we attended a concert of traditional Hungarian music. We were impressed by the architecture of the building (it’s a theatre, a museum of modern art and a concert hall). It’s accessible by tram 2. Of course you can go there at day and have another view of the city

A magnificent building - while it was build around 15 years ago, it looks like new. We attended a Hungarian folklore concert - while not our cup of tea, our overall experience combined with the building was a perfect 10 - highly recommended
