Authentic cooking experience and market tour
Jan 2020
What a great way to begin a trip! On my first day in Budapest, we began with a market tour where our guide taught us all about the local delicacies and alcoholic beverages providing some samples as we wandered through the market. We then hopped in a car to the Chef Parade cooking school where we made Hungarian goulash soup, Chicken Paprikash and Hungarian crepes for dessert. It was all delicious and so much fun. I felt prepared to tackle the local cuisine after learning about it from an expert.

Fabulous Cooking School
Jan 2020
We were a small group, some vegetarian, some not. The leader easily accommodated each preference. We were led in the recipes, but each of our skill level was respected. We were given guidance, but not instruction which suited us very well. Beverages were offered, including palinka and wine after we used the knives. The food we created was so good!!! I have all the recipes and will be making chicken paprikash for friends and family.

Loved this tour!
May 2019
This was absolutely wonderful! We did it a couple years ago and it was just us with the cooking teacher. Gave us a great understanding of Hungarian food and culture and loved the food we cooked.

Thank you so much for leaving feedback! Our goal is to be able to introduce our guests to the Hungarian culture through gastronomy and reading that we managed to that is always super rewarding! I hope to be able to cook together once again!

Great experience
Jan 2020
We went on the Market Hall Tour and cooking class with a lovely chef. On the market tour she showed us all the traditional kinds of bread, vegetables, wine, sausages, pickled vegetables, cheeses ect. She boughts us samples of both sausages, pickles vegetables and bread/pasteries to taste!
In the kitchen we cooked 3 lovely courses. It was very hands on and the chef guided us and explained everything as we did it. There was lots of different beverages to drink from during the whole day including different wines, beers, soft drinks and palinkas. The kitchen was beautiful, clean, cosy and homely. We had fun and learnt a lot from experience. It was definitely worth every penny and it is something we will remember and talk about for a long time!

Overall, pleasant but...
Dec 2019 • Family
Skip the breakfast option, not worth the money and our guide showed up late so it really was a waste of money...we had maybe 15 mins to grab some cold pastries. Also, the experience lasted from 8:30-2:30...way too long. I think this was because there were 11 of us in the group, too many if you ask me. The guide/instructor was fantastic though. She made the experience great.

Dear Brandy, Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a detailed review. I have talked to our guide to find out what happened. First of all let me apologize for the few minutes, with which she was late, it is never acceptable to have our guests waiting. On the other hand, she said she asked what would you fancy for breakfast and since you said you already ate at the hotel, the pastries would do, considering the hearty lunch you were to have. But I am sorry if you were not 100% satisfied with the experience. We are always trying to make sure that we provide the best service we can, and deliver what was promised. I am glad that you had an all in all great experience.

Once a Hungarian, Always a Hungarian! A worth the experience!
Sep 2019
It is hard to describe the insurmountable experience I had with the Hungarian cooking class. I must say it is FANTASTIC!!! I got to bring home left overs and drank plenty of Hungarian Coco-Cola (it's included). The instructor, Barbara, knew what she is doing and brought in with some creativity to the class that helped me remember what she did in class. She is someone you could become friends with. The dishes I cooked is very traditional and DELICIOUS! I cannot wait to share this with my family. If you're coming from USA, you gotta be flexible with ingredients and you gotta do your homework when shopping for certain ingredients. Big cities in USA will have some ingredients you will be looking for. Make certain you get the Hungarian paprika originally from Szeged or Kaloscai. Most importantly, I am so glad I took this class because I have Hungarian family roots and it should become part of my family.

A fun and worthwhile experience
Sep 2019
We had a great instructor, Agnes/Agi lead a class of 7 people. We had a great time together as a group and perfected some hungarian dishes. Great tips and delicious meal. We did the pea soup, the chicken paprika, and 3 types of retes- turos (or creamed cottage cheese), apple & turos with peach.
