We did the Budapest Night Tour and the Retro Tour in German. Our guide in both cases was Krystof, who speaks fluent German, is very personable and has an incredible knowledge of the history and present of Hungary and Budapest. We saw and learned a lot that isn't in the guidebook. We can only warmly recommend the tours!

Herzlichen Dank für die netten Worte, die Nachttour ist vielleicht die beste Tour von uns, auf jeden Fall ist sie die romantischeste..

We came for the second time. Last year we made the “retro kommunist” tour with “our”guide Peter. This year we continued. It was very interesting, funny and we learnt a lot about hungarian history, the polical background and current situation. Highly appreciated. Easy appointments, good conversation, bikes are fine. We’ll be back!

We spent 18 days in 5 countries, and did many tours. This was our absolute favorite. Budapest is AMAZING, there are so many beautiful and historical places there, I/we had no idea of the many things in Pest! (We did the tour only on the Pest side of the river, due to time constraints.) The best part of this tour was our guide, Barbara. She was excellent! We were supposed to do a bike tour, but the weather wasn't cooperating, so we did a walking tour. Still had a wonderful time. It was a "Bike and Bite" tour, so the focus was (sort of) on food, but we were awed by the history and architecture and city itself. We visited/walked by the opera, down Andrassy St, to a bookstore (with an unbelievable ceiling above a coffee shop), another coffee shop, over to the Parliment Building (they had a contest for the design of this building - they liked the 2nd and 3rd place winners so much, they built those buildings across the street), to the big indoor market (amazing shopping - and our first taste of a Hungarian libation and MANY area foods!), to a restaurant featured on an Anthony Bourdain episode (can't remember the name, dang it!) where you stand up and eat AMAZING Hungarian food. It's a place heavily frequented by workers in the area, and we understand there's always a long line out the door during the week. We wrapped up the tour at a family run coffee/desert house. We simply can not say enough good things about this tour. It's a MUST DO!

I can't decide how many stars to put here bc it's complicated. Our guide, Edina, was not good. The biking, ability to see the city sites quickly and without walking, and the customer service was. Hence, my indecision. Edina has only lived in Budapest for two years and lacked enthusiasm and insight. Her knowledge was formulaic and any guide book can give you the same thing. When Christian, the owner/manager(?) Emailed me to ask about our experience I told him what we thought. He politely mentioned that her job was not to answer history questions but that she should have been more sociable and enthusiastic. The other thing that brings the review down is that they take payment at the end. It's always uncomfortable at the end of the tour to exchange $ with the guide and I would prefer to pay someone like a manager or employee up front at first. Anyway, Edina had no change at all and we only had 20,000hf and owed 12,000hf. She didn't offer to find change and kind of stood there and shrugged. We were in the garage where the bikes were so we didn't see anywhere to go. We wound up giving her the full 20 and she got a $27 tip which was wholly undeserved. For his part, when I relayed this, Christian was very upset and wanted to give us a free tour and had Edina email us offering the $ back. Seriously, what are we going to do? Go meet her and take the $ away? No. Point is that Christian learned to have his employees always have change and that this tour guide needed to improve. As a business owner, I want to improve things if they are bad so I want to give him the kuddos for trying to correct it. I just think we had a poor guide on a bad day.

We took the tour on our first day in Budapest. The conditions of the bikes were great and the tour guide was great at taking us to some choice places, letting us run around, and seeing various sites of Budapest. I do think the two hour tour and the depth of information we received was not as up to par on other tours I've taken--even a little dry (uninteresting). I ended up taking other tours after the bike tour and filling in needed gaps of Budapest. It really depends on what guide you get, whether you feel like it is rushed and they're in a hurry to get rid of you or whether you are excited about the beauty and drama of Budapest. Maybe two hours wasn't enough. For the price, I felt like this was not up to par.

I had a couple of days alone in Budapest, and this seemed like the perfect way to see the city... The route is really easy and safe and Veronika is super-knowledgeable and made it really interesting. I'm really happy I did this and would definitely recommend it. The only thing I would add is that the location of where to find the start of the tour is a bit hidden on the bottom of the website... I was looking for an office, but you just meet at the bikes outside of the coffee shop on the corner!

We were lucky enough to have a 2.5 hour private tour with Peter to start out trip in Budapest. He took us to the major sites in the city and in just a couple of hours, we felt we had a good feel for the layout of the place and a great overview of the history of the city.

He recommended a range of bars and restaurants on the tour which all turned out to be excellent and we both had a really good time.

If you are looking to find out more about this beautiful city in an fun and informal way, this is the tour for you.

This is something you should do when you arrive, my husbamd and I did it the first night. It was fantastic and lots of fun. Budapest at night time is very beautiful. This tour really helped us to get our bearings of the city so we knew what we wanted to see more of for the rest of the trip. Our tour guide Edina was very knowledgeable, she was excellent! The tour is not rigid, you can request stops and change route as long as you tell the guide what you want from the trip. Highly recommended!!

My friend and I loved this bike tour. Our guide was knowledgeable about the city and the history, he was open to showing us things we might be interested in, and the drink in the park allowed for a nice rest and a time to learn more about Budapest. Highly recommend!
