We spent 18 days in 5 countries, and did many tours. This was our absolute favorite. Budapest is AMAZING, there are so many beautiful and historical places there, I/we had no idea of the many things in Pest! (We did the tour only on the Pest side of the river, due to time constraints.) The best part of this tour was our guide, Barbara. She was excellent! We were supposed to do a bike tour, but the weather wasn't cooperating, so we did a walking tour. Still had a wonderful time. It was a "Bike and Bite" tour, so the focus was (sort of) on food, but we were awed by the history and architecture and city itself. We visited/walked by the opera, down Andrassy St, to a bookstore (with an unbelievable ceiling above a coffee shop), another coffee shop, over to the Parliment Building (they had a contest for the design of this building - they liked the 2nd and 3rd place winners so much, they built those buildings across the street), to the big indoor market (amazing shopping - and our first taste of a Hungarian libation and MANY area foods!), to a restaurant featured on an Anthony Bourdain episode (can't remember the name, dang it!) where you stand up and eat AMAZING Hungarian food. It's a place heavily frequented by workers in the area, and we understand there's always a long line out the door during the week. We wrapped up the tour at a family run coffee/desert house. We simply can not say enough good things about this tour. It's a MUST DO!
