Great experience for the whole family. Leurning about how to make fabrics, colors, design and weaving. Children can make their own stamp. Special is the different machines, jaquard machines for lurex fabrics. The builiding is rebuilded and looks so beautiful. Really helpfull staff.

We really enjoyed this museum which is perfectly organized. The exhibition, that is presented in a modern and interactive way, is something different from the usual musuems and this make it very interesting. The staff is welcoming. Higly reccomended!

The museum is a social history of textile production in Hungary, particularly with the innovative and entrepreneurial Goldberger family. It illustrates the process of wax print indigo dyeing and goes on to show how the technology changed from the 1800s to the 1990s, including the devastating impact of the 2nd world war. They have activities for children and have presented information in an engaging way.
This would be of particular interest to anyone drawn to textiles and also machine production.
A five star experience.

This is my review of the Goldberger Textile Museum. I am surprised that I am the first to review it. I read about this museum and the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Commerce (which has a ton of reviews) in Only in Budapest. These museums are very close together, so I suggest going to both. This one is significantly smaller (you can do the whole thing in 30" or less) but informative nonetheless. I had known about the Goldberger Family from the Jewish history research I had done, and this place was just fascinating covering their family tree and the evolution of their textile practice and trade. I recommend it if you're already in Obuda.

Beautiful museum with very attentive staff.
You can also go there with children. There are stations for stamping, dressing up, weaving, pinning patterns, etc.
