This place was a random find. A great pit stop if you’re planning to walk from Népliget bus terminal to the city. The Harry Potter decorations through the window grabbed our attention before we even knew it was a board game cafe. They had decent beers on tap albeit slightly more expensive but you’re also paying to play their games. The guys are super friendly and can speak English to explain some games. However there are also games with English rules. Ended up staying there playing a game of Smash Up to kill time while waiting for a friend to arrive. Will definitely come back again in our house robes.

Hammertime Cafe is a small shop and does not keep much stock on hand. Rather, they do a great job of catering to the locals and taking orders for models, while providing a great space for people to relax, paint, and play games. The staff speaks very good English in my experience. It's pretty easy to reach by the subway, which also makes it s great place to drink a beer! My only recommendation would be to keep more stock on site for impulse purchases, but otherwise this is a great place in central Budapest!
